Return Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Peebles and daughter, Linda,
and son, Jack, Marsh lane, have
returned home after being in
Pendleton to visit Peebler's
brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph S. Thompson,
Pendleton, former Medford resi
dents. En route they visited
relatives in Portland. They were
away a week and arrived home
the first of this week.

Runaway A 14-year-old boy
from Areata, Calif., has been
picked up by state police and is
being held in the county jail as
a runaway, according to jail rec
ords. Larceny Charge Ralph Wal
do Bridger, 44, of 520 North
Front st., has been jailed by city
police on a charge of larceny of
two pair of gloves from the Safe
way store on North Bartlett st.,
according to police records.
Chin Up Club A meeting
of the Chin Up club will be held
today at 7:30 p.m., at the Girls
Community club. The group is
made up of physically handicap
ped persons. Anyone interested
in becoming a member or any
one who is interested in doing
associate work with the group

Martin V. Jones, a grandson
of Mrs. Nellie M. Jones of South
Oakdale ave., is returning from
Korea to this country after serv
ing there and in Japan as an Air
Force gunner on a B-26 plane.
He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Aus
tin E. Jones, former Rogue River
residents. His mother is a former
Medford librarian. Young Jones
was graduated from Rogue River
High school in 1948 and entered
the service soon after. His wife
and daughter, Karen, age 5
months, live at Lake Charles,
La. He will be stationed after
30-day leave at Eglin Air Force
base in Florida.

Museum Open The Gasburg
Museum at Phoenix, situated in
the Old Stage house there, is
now open for the summer season
after being closed throughout
the winter, those in charge said
today.

Fall, 5, of route 1, box 215,
Rogue River, and John Silva,
27, of route 1, box 191, Rogue
River, have been arrested by
sheriff's deputies and booked in
to the county jail on larceny
charges involving stolen items
sold to a Grants Pass junk yard,
according to Sheriff Howard
Gault.
To Reno Three Medford
women plan to leave Saturday
for a visit in Reno, Nev. They
are Mrs. Percy Bearden, Lozier
lane, whose son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John
Skyrman, they will visit; Mrs.
J. A. Clifton, Table Rock rd.,
and Mrs. Charles Bendel, also
Lozier lane. They plan to re
turn Monday.

Graveside funeral services
will be held at the Granite Hill
cemetery in Grants Pass, Satur
day, April 2, at 2 p.m., for
George Washington Steele, a
resident of Medford for the past
six years. He died March 31.
Perl funeral home is in charge.
The deceased was born in Wis
consin on July 15, 1870 and lived
here with his sister, Mrs. Mary
Morgan, 618 East Ninth st. Other
survivors include a niece, Miss
Evelyn Steele, Grants Pass. He
was a farmer.

The body of Newell Dean Mc
Intire, who died in Kingman,
Ariz., yesterday, will be brought
here for funeral services next
week. Perl funeral home will be
in charge.
Survivors include three chil
dren, Carol Jean, N. D. Mclntire,
Jr., and Susan Jessie, all of King
man: his mother, Mrs. Jessie Lin
ton, and a brother, Erroll, both
of Medford, another brother,
James Roy, Crescent City, Calif.,
and a sister, Gladys McKibben,
Brookings.
Hanaford, N. D.. and Mrs. Mable
Boe, Hanaford, N. D.; one grand
son, Robert B. Smith, Central
Point; and one granddaughter,
Mrs. Glodene E. Baker, Gold
Hill.
LEONA LOVE
Funeral services for Mrs. Mar
garet Leona Love, 87, who died
on Thursday, will be conducted
at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Chapel
Mortuary with the Rev. D. Kirk
land West of the First Presby
terian church officiating. The
body is being sent to Iowa for
interment next Thursday.
.The deceased was born in
Washington county, Iowa , on
July 12, 1867. She was married
on Sept. 27, 1894, to James
Gutherie Love, who preceded
her in death last year. The
family came to the Rogue alley
over 35 years ago, where they
owned and operated the Snowy
Butte orchard at Central Point,
until Mr. Love's retirement
about 10 years ago. Mrs. Love
was a member of the Methodist
church, and a charter member
of Chapter AA of PEO, Medford.
Survivors include one son,
Granville, of Crawfordsville,
Iowa, and three grandchildren.

Theodore McWethy, 71, route
2, box 667, Central Point, died
this morning in a local hospital.
Conger-Morris , funeral home is
in charge of - funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Olaf Ber
nard Ronne, 71, who died at his
home, 920 North Beatty st., Tues
day, will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Monday in Chapel Mortuary,
with the Rev. Leo C. Wine of the
Ashland Faith Temple officiat
ing. Interment will be in Mem
ory Gardens memorial park.
Pall bearers will be C. D.
Mose, H. Plyer, R. Dean, S. Gay,
E. T. People, and F. C. Yarnell.
The body will lie in state at
the mortuary throughout Sunday
for those wishing to pay their
respects.
The deceased was born in Min
dora, Wise.,, on April 16, 188a
He was married on Nov. 19,
1913. in Moose Jaw. Saskatche
wan, Canada, to Mable T. Wheel
er, who survives. The family
came to Medford 13 years ago,
vhere Mr. Ronne was a carpen
ter.
Other survivors include one
daughter. Mrs. Gladys L. Park
er, Central Point; three brothers,
Jennie, Onalaska, Wise, Ed,
Laurel, Mont., and Melvin, Ona
laska: four sisters. Mrs. Jennie

Minn.. Mrs. Anna Boe, Edger-

He is survived by his wife, Floy,
and a daughter, Mrs. Doris

ford, and three grandchildren,
also of Medford. Other survi
vors are two brothers, Dr. H. B.
Rickabaugh, Alhambra, Calif.,
and Charles Rickabaugh, Reno,
Nev., two sisters, Stella Ricard,
and Leila Drake, both of New
York City.

Some 160 persons received
chest x-rays Wednesday and
Thursday at the two Medford!
hospitals in the recently - in
augurated program of the Jack-!
son County Public Health asso
ciation.
Out-patient x-ray clinics are
held at Community hospital
Wednesday afternoons and at
Sacred Heart hospital Thursday
afternoons. Several hundred peo
ple have been x-rayed so far this
year. ' - -
One case of tuberculosis has
been discovered through the use
of the x-rays, it was reported to
day, and arrangements are being
made for his admittance to the
state TB sanitarium in Salem."
, Dr. A. Erin Merkel, county
health officer, pointed out that
the x-rays are the fastest and
surest way of discovering the
100 or more undetected cases of
TB in the county, and eradicat
ing the disease.
