tives. Actually, a teaspoonful
means between four and five
cc. Liquid medicines usually are
prescribed for children because
they are easier to administer.
Precise dosage spoons should
be in every medicine cabinet,
the researchers advise. These
can be bought at slight cost in
any drug store.

the announcement, The Coca
Cola Export Corporation- will
confine its distribution of the
canned product to the U.S. mili
tary forces in the Far East
where unusual production and

or intellectual
depravity, is
unpleas a n t,

and it is for you to decide
when that will be you'll be de
generating, all right. Degenera
tion comes to all men and wom
en past 40. Demonstrable degen
eration, that is. Scientifically de
generation begins the moment
physical growth and develop
ment reaches the pinnacle of per
fection, which, for most women
is about the age of 25 and for
most men about the age of 23.
For 15 or twenty years after the
pinnacle, the man or woman
may seem, look or feel in top
condition, but it can't be so. It
is the way of all life to grow
and develop up to the pinnacle
and immediately thereafter, like
a rose, or a racehorse, begin to
decline.
The medical dictionary de
fines (physical) degeneration as
a "retrogressive pathological
change in cells or tissues in con
sequence of which the functional
power is lost" but the func
tional power is just impaired,
not lost.
As I have been trying to tell
you in many pieces, a fair part
of which were printed, I hope,
it is my belief, reached from
long study of the subject, that
chronic rheumatiz (not arthritis)
is the manifestation of physical
degeneration in the joint tis
sues. Further I believe the condi
tion commonly called pyorrhea
is the manifestation of physical
degeneration in the teeth, gums
and jaw muscles and bones. I'll
talk about so-called pyorrhea
another day.
Still further, I believe phy
sical degeneration is a common
factor of cardiovascular disease
heart and artery troubles that
come on insidiously or gradual
ly after one has passed the
pinnacle. For that matter, hard
ening of the arteries, coronary
conditions, angina pectoris and
heart muscle conditions, to
gether with appoplexy ana
chronic nephritis (Bright1 s dis
ease) are generally regarded as
cardiovascular degeneration.

she escapes execution or a fatal
accident. Whether degeneration
will be speeded or retarded in a
particular instance depends
mainly, I believe, on nutrition.
