. Mrs. Fisher who accompanies
Mr. Fisher in his campaigns, will
appear in several musical num
bers.
Sunday is a rally day in the
Pazarene Sunday school. An at
tendance goal of 431 has been
set in the spring step-up pro
gram leading to Easter Sunday.
The first color television was
snown in the Bell Labroratories
on June 27, 1929.
A CAPPELLA CHOIR The Seattle Pacific
college a cappella choir, now appearing
throughout the northwest asttes in its 19th
season of sacred concerts, will sing in Med
ford, March 23, at 8 p.m., at the Junior High
school. The choir is directed by Dr. Lawrence
R. Schoenhals, head of the school of music at
the college, who also is the producer and
music director of the Light and Life hour,
nationwide religious broadcast heard each
Sunday morning on the ABC network. Two
male quartets are included in the membership
of the choir and will be heard in intermission
numbers. The Medford Free Methodist church
is sponsoring the program here, the Rev. John
M. Root, pastor, announced this week. The
public is invited. No admission will be
charged.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
"Matter," will be the topic of
the lesson-sermon Sunday at the
Christian Science church. The
golden text will be from John
6:63 and citations will be read
from "Science and Health With
Key to the Scriptures," by Mary
Baker Eddy, Christian Science
textbook.

Hunter in Good Shape After Night in Woods
Sweet Home (U.R) Darwin
Dodge of Holley was rested and
in good condition here today
after being lost overnight
Wednesday in the rough, snow
covered Calapooya range south
of Sweet Home.
Dodge, 26, was found by a
Linn county fire patrol search
group shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday.
Searchers said Dodge had
walked all night and was weak
ana tired . but otherwise un
harmed.
Dodge became lost Wednesday
while on a bobcat hunting trip
with his brother, Clarence. Clar
ence returned home alone, and
organized a search party of
neighbors when the other hunter
had not returned by 3 p.m. that
afternoon.

during the spring vacation week.

to Sgt. Poitevint s base at Las
Cruces after visiting Sgt. Ppite
vint's family, the Jay Poitevints
of Trail and Mrs. Poitevint's
family, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Elder
of Trail.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Weitman
are going to Portland this week
where Gene will receive a medi
cal check-up. The Weitman girls
are staying with the Joe Waltz
family and the boys are staying
with their grandfather at their
home while Mr. and Mrs. Weit
man are gone.
Gayle and Toni Grow of
Shady Cove are visiting their
grandmother, Mrs. Jack Grow in
Eagle Point during the spring
vacation week.
Steelhead Post No. 6881 and
Ladies Auxiliary are having a
fun party for members and their
guests on Saturday, March 19,
starting at 9 p.m. There will be
refreshments and dancing.
Shady Cove P.T.A. is sponsor
ing a spring fashion show Satur
day evening, March 26, at Shady
Cove school gym. Bert Pree's of
Medford and Town & Country,
Eagle Point, will show with lo
cal mothers acting as models.
Entertainment will be furnished
during the intermission. A num
ber of prizes have been donated
by local merchants. Tickets are
available from P.T.A. members.
Proceeds will go toward the
P.T.A. project for the year,
namely installing of a hood and
blower for the stove.
H.E.C. of the Shady Cove
Grange will hold a bazaar and
home cooked food sale and plant
sale on April 9, the Saturday be
fore Easter, at Shady Cove Mar
ket. The sale will start at 10 a.m.
