Riotous Comedy
To Be Produced
By Senior Class
A riotous comedy that was
made into one of the most suc
cessful and original motion pic
tures ever produced has been
chosen as the presentation of the
1955 senior class of Medford
High school. This is "Heaven Can
Wait," the play written by Harry
Segall which became the movie
"Here Comes Mr. Jordan," sched
uled for presentation here in its
original, full-length form at the
High chool auditorium for two
performances, March 28-29.
"Heaven Can Wait" is the
story of a messenger who made
a mistake, and delivered the
wrong person too soon. In this
case the messenger is on the
staff of "Mr. Jordan," a sort of
"superintendent of operations"
in heaven.. His error was in
snatching the wrong person from
earthly life and delivering him
to the pearly gates before his
time was up. The victim is a self
confident prize-fighter named
Joe Pendleton, who is outraged
that his activities in life were
unfairly cut short, and insists to
the celestial guardians that he
be given a rain-check with which
to go back to earth and accom
plish his mission of becoming
a champion.
"Mr. Jordan," embarassed at
the mistake that has landed Joe
in this fix, would like to adjust
the unfortunate error, and try to
return Joe to his original earthly
body. But then he discovers that
his body had been cremated. The
suspense of this heart-warming
fable grows out of the search of
the heavenly authorities for an
other suitable body, and the hil
arious complications and adven
tures that ensue as the pugilist is
indeed returned to earth in the
body of a most unlikely person.

tions, says Helen Becker, rural

sity of Nebraska.
Some of her suggestions:
Turn handles of cooking uten
sils to the back of the stove.
Keep knives and other sharp
instruments from children.
Use a safe step ladder to reach
high shelves and other difficult
storage places.
All electric appliances near
