NOTICE OF BOND SALE
Notice is hereby given that the
Board of Commissioners of the Maple
Park Water District. Jackson County,
Oregon, will receive sealed bids at
7:30 P.M. on March 17. 1955 at Room
1. Brophy Building, Medford. Oregon
for an issue of Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000.00) of general obligation
bonds of said District in denomina
tions of $1,000.00 each. Said bonds
shall be dated January 1. 1955 and
shall mature as follows: $2,000.00 on
January 1st in each of the years
1958 to 1962, inclusive.
Said bonds are to bear interest at
the rate or rates specified by the suc
cessful bidder, payable semiannually
on the first days of January and July
of each year at the U. S. National
Bank of Portland (Oregon). Medford
Branch.
Bidders offering to purchase said
bonds are invited to bid thereon for
not less than 98'. of Par. Bids must
be in writing and unconditional and
accompanied by a certified check in
the amount of $200.00 as evidence of
good faith on the part of the bidder.
Said deposit shall not draw interest
but will be forfeited to the District as
liquidated damages should the suc
cessful bidder withdraw Tiis bid or fail
or neglect to complete his offer in
accordance with the terms thereof.
The Board of Commissioners of said
District reserves the right to reject
any and all bids and to waive any and
all informalities in the bids.
The District will furnish and print
said bonds and will furnish the un
qualified approving opinion of Win
free, McCulloch, Shular and Sayre,
attorneys at law, Fortland, Oregon.

It is the intent of the Water
Resources Development Corporation
with home offices at 460 "S" Broad
way, Denver, Colorado, and a re
gional office at West 1017 Riverside
Average. Spokane. Washington. . to
operate a Rain Increase Program for
the Rogue River Valley Traffic Asso
ciation and other Associated Organi
zations whose offices are at 303 West
5th Street. Medford. Oregon.
The object of the program will be
to increase the rain fall in the areas
outlined below. The equipment to be
used will be silver iodide (Ag I) coke
burning generators. The fuel used
will be Coke impregnated with sil
ver iodide (Agl) -
The period of operations will be
from on or about March 15th. 1955 to
on or about June 30th. 195a.
The area to be affected will be the
area outlined below:
Beginning at the City of Ashland,
North to the town of Butte Falls, due
East to Dead Indian Road. South on
Dead Indian Road to the Jackson
County line. South along the County
Line to Highway 66. West along High
way 66 to the town of Pinehurst,
from Pinehurst southwest to the in
tersection of Highway 99 and the
California-Oregon State Line. West
along the Mate Line to the ast Side
of Section 15, Township 41. South
Range 2. West: North along the Sec
tion Line to the South-East Corner of
Section 10. Township 39 South, Range
i west: due .ast to the city of Ash'
land, the starting point.
The area north of Dead Indian Road
will rot be operated until after
April 1st.
By 1965, there will be 81 mil
lion motor vehicles in the Unit
ed States, the Automobile club
of New York estimates. Placed
one above the other, the cars
would make a column 65,000
miles high more than a quar
ter of the distance to the moon.

home February 7. The meeting
was called to order by Lewis
Nickerson . at 8 o'clock. Willie
Debrick led us in the flag sa
lutes. ,
The leader gave some money
to the treasurer earned from
Gold Medal coupons. Report
cards were signed by the leader
and were to be picked up after
the meeting by the members.
We played two games and val
entine refreshments were served
by Mrs. Anhorn. The next meet
ing will be Monday, March 7, at
the W. C. Higinbqtham home at
7:30.
