Pleads Innocent Victor Hall
Spaulding, 60, Camp White,
pleaded innocent in municipal
court to a charge of driving

lieu of bail, they said.

ery left Sunday by plane for
Tonasket, Wash., where he was
called by the death Feb. 19 of his
father, John Robert Barnett.
The funeral will be held Tuesday

Vagrancy Lucy Marie Lof-
tis, 41, Canyonville, pleaded
guilty to a vagrancy charge to
day and was ordered to leave
town or receive a jail sentence,
according to city police records.
The woman was found hitchhik
ing through town, they said.
Daughter Leaves Mrs. James
Mitcheltree left today for her
home in Portland after being in
Jacksonville for five days with
her mother, Mrs. Myrtle P. Lee,
who has been ill. Mrs. Lee has
returned to her work as curator
at the Jacksonville Museum.
Woman Cited Ella Wilms
Ault, 37, Portland, was cited by
Central Point police yesterday
for drunk' while driving and
lodged in the county jail. A
passenger in her car, Zaden Ellen
Berg, 47, route 1, box 148. was
cited by police for drunk on a
public highway, . according to
sheriff s records.

The deceased was born April
4, 1929, in Grants Pass, and had
lived in Medford since 1938.
He was a member of the F.O.E.

married to Theodore McWethy,
who survives.

Central Point; Mrs. Iva Watson,
Amarillo, Tex.; and Mrs. Jay
Sacquetty, Whittier, Calif.; four
sisters,' Mrs. Vernia Chandler,
Lubbock, Tex.; Mrs. Velma

Opal Myers, Earth, Tex.; and
Mrs. Sylvia Fennel, Ft. Smith,
Ark.; three brothers, Fred Ellis,

Cause of Portland Death

Grady died.
Grady was pronounced dead
on arrival at Emanuel hospital
yesterday after he was found
lying in a hallway of a hotel.
Five other persons were arrest
ed on drunk charges and police
said they would be questioned
in connection with Grady's
death. .

bureau said partial cloudiness
would replace today's sunshine
over much of Oregon with tem
peratures tonight to remain
cold.
Yesterday's sun brought a high
of 64 degrees to Brookings on
the southern Oregon coast and
similar warm temperatures
were reported from many other
spots around the state. It was
52 at The Dalles and Portland
and 53 at Roseburg.
It cooled off,' however, as soon
as the sun went down and Burns
and Lakeview reported a nippy
14 degrees.

Two Patients Flown '
On Mercy Flight Trips
Two patients were transported
by Mercy Flights yesterday, ac
cording to George Milligan, in
charge of the flights.
William A. Young was re
turned from St. Vincent's hospi
tal in Portland to his home at
815 Bennett st., Medford. He
had been in Portland for medi
cal treatment. John Childers was
pilot on the flight.
Darrel Coiner, two-and-a-half
year-old son of Mr. and Mrs.
Clair . M. Coiner, 1112 Ben's
lane, Medford, was taken to
Doernbecher hospital in Port
land yesterday stricken with
meningitis. The child's condition
is critical according to a state
ment by hospital attendants. He
was accompanied by his mother.

in the first degree murder trial
of 17-year-old Jerry Dodele, ac
cused of killing Peter Ribbers,
64, in Timber, Ore., last No
vember. Washington county District
Attorney .James Gardner attack
ed defense claims that young
Dodele - was intoxicated at the
time of the slaying.
Gardner said "Jerry Dodele
wanted money; he borrowed a
gun; searched for money in Pe
ter Ribbers' house; Ribbers
came home, Jerry aimed the
gun, fired and Ribbers lost his
life."
