Room Damaged A daveno,
walls and the ceiling of a room
at the Dean DeBerry residence,
609 West Second St., were darn
aged by fire about 5:30 pjn. Sat
urday, firemen reported. They
said the blaze apparently origi
nated from a cigarette spark.

there in an Isolette until yester
day. Patricia weighed 3 pounds
and 6 ounces at birth and when
she was dismissed she weighed
5 pounds, 2 ounces. .

he is a photographer in "head
quarters company of the 97th
signal operating battalion, ac
cording to an Army release.
Chez entered the Army in No
vember, 1953, and arrived over
seas last month. The 25-year-old
soldier is a 1952 graduate of

Lee Caton, 88, of 124 Tripp St.,
who died at a local hospital
Sunday, will be held at Perl
funeral home Tuesday at 1:30
pjn. with the Rev. D. E. Millard
officiating. Interment will be in
Siskiyou Memorial park.
The deceased, a Medford resi
dent for the past 55 years, was
born in Clinton, Mo., on Nov.
8, 1866, and was a farmer. He
was a member of the Presbyte
rian church.
Survivors' include his wife,
Alice, Medford; two daughters,
Mrs. G. C. Motley, : Klamath
Falls, and Mrs. Don Loosley,
Portland; two .sons, ' Clyde, Ash
land, and Lloyd, Medford; a
brother, Albert, Seaview, Calif.;
two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lou Mil
ler, Portland, and Mrs; Phoebe
Green, Eureka, Mont; six grand

Reports . on the Democratic
victory dinner held in Portland
following the November election
were made by Jackson County
Democratic Chairman Robert
Boyer, and short talks " were
made by retiring president Cecil
Norris, Alvy Walker, Gold Hill,
Clyde Fichtner, and others. .;
A standing vote of thanks was
given Cecil Norris and other re
tiring officers for their work
since the founding of the organi
zation two years ago. A monthly
prize, donated by former Coun
ty Chairman - Guy Corliss, was
presented to Alvy Walker. , -
Following the .dinner a social
evening, including dancing, was
enjoyed by the members. . : .

He was the father of Miss Sue
Lichty, a former employee of
The Mail Tribune, who is now
a resident' of San Francisco.
Mr. Lichty was a native o
Montana and a graduate , of the
University of Washington. Aft

side, Wash., he opened his law
office in Portland iin 1931. Mr.
Lichty .was a prominent mem
ber of the Masonic Lodge.
