a job to go through your card

My card says

few people, I suppose,
have been honored by getting a

Price Differential
In Grades of Milk
OKd by Commiffee
' Salem U.R) A bill to '' in
' crease the price differential be
tween top and second grades of
- milk and cream won approval in
-, the House Foods and Dairy Com
mittee yesterday and was sent
; to the floor for final vote.
Committee members said they
- thought the 1 present differential
of price to producers "between
grades was too. small to encour
age production of premium
quality milk and cream.
Rep. Elmer Deeiz, Canby. Re
publican, said such a law would
go far toward eliminating infer-
. lor grades of milk and cream..
- - The committee also approved
by unanimous vote a bill to
exempt persons owning one cow
or three goats from provisions of
grade and standard require
ments for the quality; of fluid
milk. Rep.-Joe Rogers of Inde
pendence said passage of the bill
would merely legalize a common
. practice. -, ry '
Minimum Price Bill Due
Rogers told the committee he
. planned to introduce within a
few days a bill to establish a
minimum price paid to produc
ers of grade A milk and to pro
vide a rigid auditing plan. If ap
proved, the bill would give a
uniform payout to producers and
: would set up distributor pools.
Congress To Hear
Haitian President
' Washington (U.R) President
Paul E. Magloire of Haiti goes
. before , a joint session of Con
gress today to thank the United
States for help it has given his
Caribbean nation.
He was scheduled to tell Con
gress that the helping hand the
United . States has extended . to
Haiti and other American na
tions is the chief reason. Com
munism has failed to gain a foot
i hold in the Western Hemisphere.
. Magloire, who arrived here on
Wednesday for a three-day visit,
also planned to see Washington
area landmarks and confer with
Secretary of: State John Foster
Dulles. - . , .
Magloire,' , the first foreign
dignitary to arrive for an offi
cial visit this year, was invited
by President Eisenhower. His
visit is billed only as a "good
; will" mission, but he is expected
to sign a military assistance
agreement with the - United
, .States before departing Satur
day to tour part of the nation.

And here goes one to certify
that "Bro. H. W. N. is a full
fledged member ;of the 'Ugly
Mug' Lodge." That is a carrying
card from Kahn's Cocktail Bar
at Cape May, N. J. I have been
told, although I have never seen
it, that a mug with my name on
it . in gold hangs by a silver
string from the ceiling in the
joint along with hundreds of
others.

. Another card entitles; me; to

fear to tread- in the all-gal
swimming pool at the Meridian
Hill Hotel here in Washington
President Eisenhower and - V.P.
Nixon also are card bearers and
they are scared, too.

over, that I also am a member
of the order of "Yellow Dogs,"
the fun club of the Department
of Commerce. I started out as
a "puppy" and graduated after
a rather hectic initiation. -; . "
There is also ;a little, card
calling me a White House corres

It won't get you in the White
House without a special come
on from the big house guards,
but the guards at least will say
"howdy." It is something to
keep anyhow Maybe it will get
you out of a parking ticket in
