Oregon, from West 5th. Street to West
6th Street, in the City of Medford,
Oregon; and directing the Recorder to
enter a statement thereof in the Dock
et of City Liens and publish a notice

THE CITY Of MEDFORD DOTH OR-
, DAIN AS FOLLOWS: . v, .
' Section 1. WHEREAS, the City Coun
cil did heretofore by Ordinance de
clare its intention to ' construct as
phaltic concrete - pavement in and
through the north and south alley of
Block 56, Original Town' (now City)
of Medford. Oregon, from west 5th
Street to West 6th Street in the City
of Medford, Oregon; and to- assess the
cost inereox . upon eacn 101 or $art
thereof adjacent .to and benefited by
such improvement its proportionate
share of the cost of said improve
ment, and did fix .the time and place
for hearing protests against the con
struction of said -improvement, and
the assessment of the cost thereof, as
aforesaid.-And - ;
.. WHEREAS said Ordinance was duly
posted and - published as required by
the Charter of the City.-And-
WHEREAS a meeting of the Council
was held at the time and place fixed
in said Ordinance' for the purpose of
considering any such protests, but no
protests were at such time, or at any
time, . made to, or received .by the
Council to the construction of said
improvement, or the assessing of the
cost thereof, . as aforesaid, and" said
Council has considered the matter
and deeming that -said construction
of said improvement was and is of
material benefit to said City, and that
all the property to be assessed there
fore will be benefited thereby to the
extent of the probable amount of the
respective assessments to fee levied
against said property, did order the
construction of said improvement And
WHEREAS, the cost of said im
provement has been and hereby is de
termined to be the sum of, $2,247.18.
- NOW. THEREFORE, it is hereby
determined that the proportionate
snare of -the cost. of construction of
said improvement, on . each parcel of
property adjacent - to said "improve
ment and benefited .thereby is - the
amount set opposite the description of
each piece or parcel of land below,
and that each piece or. parcel of land

This average included about 40
pounds 'of canned ' tomatoes and

straight off the vine. .
Corn is second in " national
preference. The average Ameri
can in 1953 consumed 13 pounds
of canned corn and 10 pounds

varieties.
Third among the vegetable fa
vorites was cabbage, "with slight
