Wedding Rites Take Place
In Future Home
Gold Hill The wedding of
Miss Ruth Marice Vincent and
Donald Malcolm Burrill was an
event of January 19. The v eve
ning ceremony was held at the
future home of the couple at
route 2, box 141, Central Point,
and the couple made a weeding
trip v to northern Oregon and
southern Washington.
The 1 bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. ,. Vincent,
route 2, box 463, Gold Hill. The
bridegroom's parents,.. Mr. and
Mrs. S. W. Burrill, live- at roifte
2, box 137, Central Point. -';-
For her wedding the bride
wore a pink ; taffeta evening
dress with black accessories. Her
corsage was of pink roses. Mr.
Vincent gave his daughter in
marriage.'
'Mrs. WilHam Newton, matron
of honor, wore a light gray taf
feta evening, dress also with
black accessories. Her corsage
was "of blue roses. .
The -Rev. D. E." Millard per
formed the candlelight ceremony
which was attended by about 50
guests, and he and Mrs.: Millard
furnished ' the wedding music.
' Neil W. Burrill, a brother, of
the bridgegroom, was best man.

Miss Rita Thompson was the
candle lighter.
The bride has lived her entire
life in Sams Valley. She . will
graduate in June of : this year
from Crater High school at Cen
tral Point. The bridegroom lived
in the Prospect vicinity from
1947 until he was graduated
from Prospect high school in
1952. Soon after he moved with
his family to Central Point. He
is a maintenance man with the
Eugene F. Burrill Lumber com
pany in White city.
A reception was held at the
home with the bride- and bride
groom making the traditional
first cut of the wedding cake
which then was served by Mrs.
Neil Burrill, a sister-in-law of
the bridegroom. ? 1
Mothers of the bride and
bridegroom poured punch and
coffee, assisted by the bride's
sister, Mrs. Galen Dizick. Mrs.
William L. Newton took charge
of the bride's book.

groom's mother was dressed in
a green afternoon frock with

group's meeting place to Eaton's
Dinner house, 812 Crater Lake
avenue. The auxiliary meets the
first Wednesday of each month,
and the next session will be
February 2 at 8'pjn. at Eaton's.
Reports were made of the suc
cess of the sidewalk toll from
which the club netted $106.05
for the March of Dynes. .

annual interclub card party
were also discussed. Crater aux
iliary will be hostesses for the
event this year which is to be
given in the Medford Hotel Fri
day, February 11 at 8 p.m. All

spoke at a meeting of Medford
branch, American Association of
University Women, - Wednesday
evening at the home of Mrs. : A.
N. Potter, Jr., 1315 Queen Anne
avenue. . . !
Mrs. Bartlett, wife of a retired
army colonel, spoke on life in
the 'French zone of 'Germany
where they lived for two years
while her husband was with the
Army of Occupation. She discus
sed briefly the German:Ameri
can club to which she belonged,
the main purpose of which was
to create a feeling of friendship
between . the Germans and
Americans.
Germany is felt to be one of
our strongest Allies in Europe,
according to Mrs. Bartlett, and
the American GI is our most im
portant ambassador, abroad. The
GFs natual friendliness, espec
ially to children, plays a most
important part in strengthening
friendship ties with Germany
and in furthering closer rela
tions with them. .
Mrs. Bartlett displayed minia
ture houses and people, typical
of people living in the Berches-
garten area, the Black Forest
and the Bavarian region, as welt
as some of the articles of cloth
ing typical of those worn in Ba
varia. She also showed . colored
slides taken by the Bartletts dur
ing their period of residence in
Germany. . - -
The Bartletts lived in Medford
briefly for -a period of three
months , during the war when he
was stationed at Camp White
and liked the Rogue Valley : so
well they decided to make their
permanent-home here upon his
retirement from the service
They have recently returned to
Medford and- are now living in
their home on Valley View
drive.
Mrs. Harry Poston, chairman
of the education committee of
AAUW, was in charge of ar
rangements for the meeting, and
was assisted by Mrs. J. V. Mc
Goodwin, Mrs. B. M. . Devers,
Mrs. w. W. Deakins, Mrs. Fran
ces Flinn, Mrs. M. D. McGeary
and Mrs. Martin Voorheis.
Next meeting will be the an
nual xeuowsmp luncheon on
February 19th, for which Mrs.
William Knope is chairman.

A workshop and student prac

Bebb, by her pupils.

program, the workshop included
