the House -and Senate, plus the
ranking Republican members.'
As Washington protocol . goes,
McCarthy should , have been in
cluded in his role as ranking
Republican on the' Senate Gov
ernment Operations, committee.
Washington society reporters
noted that , the . . controversial
Wisconsin senator .and his wife

took an attitude "of 'studied
amazement at the' mere sugges
