Miro said Guizado had full knowledge of the plot and en

ceived the sacrament of baptism
in the Episcopal church, follow
ing 'the regular Sunday evening
services at thes Shady . ' Cove
schoolhouse last Sunday - with
the Rec. Greene officiating. Sun
day, Jan. 2, the newly erected
Episcopal' church : at Prospect
will be formally dedicated and
confirmation services will ' be

Twenty-three members and
guests attended the , January
meeting of Shady Cove Home
: Extension Unit held Jan. 18 at
the home of Mrs. Gene Weit
man on the River road. Shady
Cove. A business meeting was
held in the morning, plans be
ing made for the food sale to be
put on jointly by the Home Ex
tension Unit and Shady Cove
P.T.A. for benefit of the March
of Dimes. The food sale will be
held Friday, Jan. 21, from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Shady Cove
Cleaners. Plans were also made
for three benefit card parties,
proceeds to go towards the Ex
tension fund. The first will be
held ; Friday, Jan. 28, at the
home of Mrs. Dolf Larson start
ing at 12:00 o'clock with bridge
and pinochle to be played. Sub
sequent parties have; been set
for Feb. 3 at the home of Mrs.
Travis Littlefield on Rogue Riv
er drive and Friday, Feb. 25, at
the home of Mrs. Carroll Wat
son. A salad or dessert luncheon
is served followed by an after
noon of cards and all ladies in
the community are invited. How
ever, it is asked that they notify
the hostess that they will attend.
Following the luncheon - the
project, "touching up wood fur-
niture,' was given by Mrs. Ted
Daw and Mrs. - Ed Houston of
Shady Cove. Plans' were made
for members to attend the work
shops in Medford on "refinish
ing wood furniture" to be held
over a . period of five weeks.

tuss's. Pinochle was enjoyed fol

Boy Scouts of Shady Cove will
sell March of Dimes crutches on
the streets and business sections
of Shady Cove and Trail on
Saturday. Proceed from ( the
penny drills at the January
meetings of the Shady Cove
Grange will also be donated to
the , March of Dimes. .-

wanis International was obser
ved and past . presidents of the
Medford Kiwanis club were
honored yesterday at the regu
lar, noon luncheon of the club.

group who iserved as presidents
of other Kiwanis ; clubs were
present and took ' part in - the
meeting of Rogue Valley Coun

Heading the list was William
J. Warner who served in" 1923
as first Kiwanis president her.
Others were Everett Faber 1935,
Dr. C. H. Paske ' 1937, Frank
Perl 1946, Paul Selby 1948, Bob
Rector, 1951, Jennings Pierce
1952, E. Ron Rice 1953 and
Boyd Budge 1954.

on Jan. 31 at the senior high
school. Performers of high

sought. The Kapers production;
"Tel-Aversions," will be pre
sented here on Feb. 23, 24, 25
and 26.
