State Treasury
Funds Decline
Salem U.R) Total funds in
the Oregon state treasury at the
end of 1954 showed a decline
of $30,044,285, according to
State Treasurer Sig Unander.
- The total balance at the end
of the year was $109,943,187
' compared with $139,987,472 at
the end of the previous year.
Unander said the drop was
due in large part to the lowering
of the general fund balance from
$41,473,672 to $29,706,701; to a
' decline in the State Unemploy
ment Compensation fund from
$J0,676,073 to $59,164,841 and a
rIuction in the state building
fund due to expenditures on new
state buildings from $4,966,013
to $1,898,892.
Interest on state deposits and
short term investments credited
to the general fund during the
calendar year of 1953 totaled $lj
293,945, compared with $1,561,-
187 during 1953.
