officers of 1935.

Hears of Plans
For School Room .
Ruch A television set as, a
recreational project for children
during PTA meetings will be;an
objective of the Ruch' Parent
Teacher association, according
to a. decision reached at a-meet-ing

Mrs. Albert pi elson was

upon' resignation of Dow Lewis

sion of children.

the. group viewed a color film on
American farming presented by
John.Deaver of Deaver Imple
ment company of Medford.- The
film - not only . showed modern
methods on an 800-acre , farm
but presented an .-. underlying
trend of stable family life and
community work, as well as
showing the importance of herit
age to the farm' owner featured
in the film. '" ' '
During the evening it, was re
vealed by the local school board
that bids are , being ' received
throughout January for con
struction of a class room and
50x90 - foot gymnasium at the
school. -Architectural plans were
drawn by James K. Hoey, con
sulting engineer s of Medford
and have been approved by the
board of directors, the depart
ment of education, and state
board of health. Bids will be
opened January 31. It was stated
that a contractor probably would
complete the buildings by July
or August. Voters of the dis-
tric approved a $33,000 bond
issue '.for the buildings in Octo
ber. ' ' ' ' 1 " -

Dior, the man t-who threatened
to 'teclipse women's, curves with
concealing "H-line"'dresses, now
has revealed his spring ideas for
American women. , '
" The forecast: Moderate curves,
slightly rising bustline and little
chance for the stormy protests
that greeted last fall's threat of
flat fronts.
The - Paris designer is still
holding the H-line,buthe actual
ly shows more of a woman's
waistline in his American col
lection for spring? and summer
than some of the American de
signers. His latest designs were
previewed as part of the week
lo'ng fashion showings currently
under way, 'sponsored by the
couture groups of the New York :
Dress Institute; ' "
Dior raised the bustline from
an inch to two inches in all his
spring clothes. His models wore
special foundation garments' he
designed to create the higher,
less pointed bustline.

a candidate for Azalea House at
Corvallis, was unable to accept
the offer, it is stated.
Annlications for next year at
Azalea house are now open. Any
senior girl in "Jackson county
interested in attending Oregon
State college and living at
Azalea house next year may
make "her application to , the
county agent's office in Medford.
Living at Azalea house is about
$20 per month cheaper than oth
er quarters, it is pointed out.
Reese Creek unit made a do
nation of $5 to the March of
Dimes.
Next meeting will be Febru
fary 1 at the home of Mrs. Paul
Johnston and the topic will oe

Nettie Rosenstein has a group
