The film, "The City," will be

"Crowded Ways."

At First Baptist

evening's program. A film and
music are planned. The social
committee of the church will
provide refreshments. The last
hour of the old year will be
given to a devotional service
led by the interim pastor of the
church, Dr. F. Cart Truex.
The regular service of the
church will be held Sunday,
when Dr. Truex will use as his
; subject for the 11 a.m. worship
hour, "Prayer." New members
will be welcomed and the ordi
nance of the Lord's supper will
be served. The evening service
at 7:30 o'clock will begin with
the ordinance of baptism, and
the pastor's subject will be,
'Atomic Power."
Interim Pastor To
Complete Ministry; .
Services Announced
The Rev. Nelson B. Melvin,
national director of Evangelism
for the Advent Christian Gen
eral Conference of America, will
conclude his ministry Sunday in
the Advent Christian church
which is located at Jackson and
Welch sts.
At the 11 ajn., worship serv
ice he will speak on "How To
Be Happy", and the sermon sub
ject at the 7:30 p.m. evangelistic
service will be, "When Loyalty
Lags."
He has been here during the
interim between pastorates' of
the Rev. Laurel Lee Crabb and
that of the Rev. Robert Robinson
of Santa Cruze, Calif. Mr. Rob
inson will assume his responsi
bilities Sunday, Jan. 9.
Mrs. Melvin and sons, Paul
and David, arrived two weeks
ago to spend the Christmas sea
son with Mr. Melvin. The family
will return to their home in
Aurora, 111., next week.
Youth Revival Set
At Prospect Church
. Prospect A revival for youth
will be sponsored at the Church
of the Nazarene, otherwise
known as the ."Chapel in the
Pines," the pastor, Dr. L. T. Ed
wards announced this week. The
revival will open Sunday at 11
am. v .
The Rev. Raymond Harrison,
a young minister and a former
pastor, will be the guest speak
er. He also will' furnish songs
and entertainment.
All youth interested are in
vited. Services will begin each
evening at 7:30 p. m., through
Sunday, Jan. 9.
New Year's Eve
Service Slated
A watch night service will be
held in the Church of the Naz
arene, Holly and First sts., be
ginning at 11 p. m. today. An
evening of activity will precede
the New Year's service. Social
activities will be sponsored by
various Sunday school classes
with young married and adult
groups meeting in the annex.
The traditional watch night
service will find members of the
church engaged in prayer as the
New Year 1955 is ushered in.

'Things Hewr Topic
Af Nazarene Church
'Things New" will be the
theme of the service Sunday- at
7:30p.m. at the Church of the
Nazarene, when these who have
made decisions for Christ in the
past year, new members, 1954
babies in the congregation, and
1954 newly wedded couples will
be honored. The service is plan
ned as a counterpart to the serv
ice conducted last Sunday when
older persons were honored.
Sunday's topic will be "Blazing
New Trails". The Rev. R. W.
Hum will speak.

the Junior high youth Sunday
at 6:30 p.m. He will discuss,

conference. The conference will
