and winners were announced
yesterday.
William Isaacs and Roy Pruitt
: .cored 84 points to lead north
south winner and second went
to Mrs. Yvonne Dalen and Mrs.
Lloyd Johnson for 69 points.
Mrs. W. W. Stevenson and Mrs.
Richard Milestone were third
with QIVz, and fourth was tak
en by Mrs. M. M. Herman and
Mrs. B. L. Sanderson for 66V&
points.
Dr. and Mrs. George B. Dean
were first for east-west winners,
scoring 74,points, 'and in second
place were Mrs. Howard Boyd
and Virgil Temple with
points. Mrs. B. B. Hughes and
Asa Kimball, Mrs. C. E. Kunz
and T. J Fuson tied for third
and fourth, each pair scoring 65
points o
Wenonah Club Plans
Card Party Tonight
Wenonah club will sponsor a
public card party at Redman
hall Friday, December 10, at
8:15 p.m. Bridge, pinochle and
canasta will be played.
The party will be preceded by
a meeting of Pocahontas lodge
at 7:30 p.m.

Postpone Dinner
In Jacksonville
Jacksonville The regular pot-
luck dinner usually held each
month for members of Jackson
ville Rebekah and Odd Fellows
lodges, and scheduled for this
evening, has been postponed, of
ficers have announced. Instead,
the group will meet for an an
nual Christmas dinner, Sunday,
December 19, at 6:30 p.m.
No exchange of gifts will be
held except for the children.
Several Rebekah ' members
plan to attend ' a Friendship
night at Ashland. Those plan
ning to make , the trip should
call the vice-grand, the officers
pointed out. " , '

tinued drop in egg prices with
poultry low but steady.
Mrs. Lester Wertz spoke con
cerning the legislature's prob
lem of securing funds to cover
state expenses. "
Next H.E.C. meeting will be
at the home of Mrs. Roy Smith,
December 29 at 1 p.m. Luncheon
will be served by the officers.
This is the annual Christmas gift
exchange.
At the December 21 meeting
of Grange, a Christmas program
is planned and a gift exchange
will be held. Each member is to
bring a small gift wrapped ap
propriately. Grange women are
asked to bring pie for refresh
ments. -
Earl Hoover, member of Bea
verton Grange, was a visitor. He
spoke on behalf of the newly
formed organization, Oregon
Grange Supply Association, Inc.,
of which he is manager. The as
sociation replaces the now de
funct Oregon Grange Wholesale
end is a Grange wholesale sup
ply house. It is to be financed
by sale of capital certificates
which pay 5 interest and are
retired in 15 years. In emerg
encies they may be cashed im
mediately. Mrs. Delia Myers was granted
a withdrawal so she may join an
organization nearer her home. ;
A card of thanks " was read
from Mrs. Otis Hill for a plant
given her during her recent stay
in a Medford hospital. She is
now at home, and improving.
A resolution was passed chang
ing election of officers to the last
meeting in October on even
years in order to avoid conflict
with the general election:
Installation will be conducted
by Rbscoe Roberts and his team
at - the hall, December 19, . at
1:30 p.m. Invitations are being
extended to Upper Rogue, Shady
Cove, Butte f Falls, Lake Creek
and Roxy Ann Granges. Any officers-
who have missed installa
