Andy's Jewelers pulled into a
deadlock for the Medford Inde
pendent Basketball League's top
position last night by beating
Headquarters Company - of the
National Guard 73 to 58. In
another contest the Campus Five
won from Southern Oregon col
lege 49 to 33.
Rnh Shores with 16 Doints and
Jack Boardman with 14 led
Andy's as it scored its second
win against no losses. Yellow
Cab has the same standing.
Quarterly scores for the Jewel
ers were 16 to 4, 35 to 13 and
54 to 41. John Drews of the
Guardsmen, however, was high
scorer with 21 points and Bruce
, Bateman of the same team as
next with 17.
No individual count was avail
able for the Campus Five. Bruce
Niles had 10 and Darrell John
son nine for Hawkinson's.
It was indicated today that
Hawkinson's may seek a replay
of the fracas. Protest is based
on contention that Campus play
ers continued in the game after
being charged with five fouls or
more. Five fouls is supposed to
put a man out of the game.
