at a deportation hearing for 13-year-old
Lee Fung Yew testi
fied here yesterday the boy
could not be the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lee Dean Hem, Portland,
as fclaimed.
Dr. Arthur W. Frisch. nrofes-
sor of bacteriology at the Uni
versity of Oregon medical school
said blood tests showed the boy
could not be the son of the Port-
land couple, who brought him
here from China three years ago.
Dr. Frisch admitted that it was
possible that Hem was the boy's
father. - 1
The hearing was being held
before Hearing Officer Louis
Haffman. The Hems contend
that since they are American
citizens, the boy is also a citi-
zen. The government has charg
ed the boy was illegally admit
ted to the United States.
