Many Attend
Homecoming
Many graduates and former
students of .Oregon-State col
lege and football fans are in
Corvallis this weekend for the
annual OSC Homecoming and
the University-OSC football
game. Various groups motored
north Thursday and Friday, and
most will return today.
The event held added inter
est for Medford residents since
the Homecoming queen is Miss
Sue Harris, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lester Harris, 707 South
Oakdale avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard H.
Henselman left Friday morning
for Salem where they were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gray
and the four went to Corvallis
Saturday for the Homecoming
festivities.
Mrs. H. P. Bosworth Jr., -.trav
eled north Saturday morning
and attended the game with her
son and daughter-in-law, .Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Bosworth.
Also in Corvallis for the
events are Mrs. Robert Hart and
Mrs. James Towne. Mrs. Hart,
an OSC graduate, visited her
daughters, the Misses Ann and
Sara Hart, both OSC students,
and Mrs. Towne's daughter,
Miss Elizabeth Rinehart, is a
student at the university.
In Corvallis for Homecoming
and game are Mr. and Mrs. Al
lan F. Perry and daughter, Jan
et. Mrs. Perry, who had been in
Portland earlier in the week
met her family in Corvallis and
thev will return tonight.
Mr. and Mrs. Moore Hamil
ton, Miss Nancy Hamilton and
Robert also motored north to vis
it the Hamilton s older son,
Alex, a student at OSC, and to
attend the Homecoming pro-
cram.

For Stay in Turkey
Eutte Falls Mrs. Robert B.
Pechner, who has been visiting
at the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Green, Butte Falls,
left last week by United Air
lines for San Francisco en route
to Adana, Turkey, via New York
City; and Amsterdam, Holland.
, At Amsterdam she will join
her husband who now is at
Adana as an employee of the
Morrison - Garanti firm. He is
wonting in me construction 01
dams and hydro-electric plants.
Mr. and Mrs. Pechner re
turned in September, 1953, after
two years in Afghanistan where
Mr. Pechner was a construction
engineer with the Morrison
Knudsen - Afghanistan company,
in the building of dams and canal
systems.

were invited each evening.

Kofahl, Mrs. Kofahl and their
four children, Kristen, Patrick
and Michael, twins, and Robert,
are in Gold Hill to visit the of
ficer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
G. Kofahl. They will be in the
valley for about 10 days.
For the past 18 months Colonel
Kofahl has been in Saigon,
French Indo-China, where . he
headed the military aid advisory
group for the USAF. After leav
ing Gold Hill he will report for
duty at the Pentagon in Wash
ington. Before going to Saigon,
the officer' was in command of
Moody Air Force base, Valdosta,
Ga.

chid. The bride is a 1953 Medford
Senior High school graduate and
is employed at Mann's Depart
ment store as an elevator opera
tor. The bridegroom attended
Phoenix High school and is now
employed at the Talent mill. He
plans to enroll at Southern Ore
gon college at mid-term for his

was given October 2 by Miss
Donna - Nelson. Twenty-seven
guests attended and the honored
guest received miscellaneous

the evening at Apostolic Faith church, with the Rev. C. W. Frost

Myers saw cinerama and visited
a number of Hollywood night
spots. He returned home by way
of Palm Springs and Fresno
where he visited relatives.
Mrs. Pierce and her son left
here in June to spend a year in
southern California and do not
plan to return north for a visit
until after the holidays and the
end of the winter term. '
