Top Dairy Herds Listed by Group
The Ted Rein dairy herd of
16 cows topped the October
herd summary prepared by the
Jackson County Dairy Herd Im
provement association, it was
announced Saturday by associa
tion officials.
Rein's herd produced an av
erage of 699 pounds of milk and
42.2 pounds of butterfat.
Other herds in the top five
were those owned by R.1 L. Wy-
ant and Son, 32 cows, average
of 668 -pounds of milk and 40.1
pounds of butterfat; E. B.
Poyer, 15 cows, average of 752
pounds of milk and 39.4 pounds
of butterfat; P. K. Nelson, 19
cows, average of 662 pounds of
milk and 36.5 pounds of butter
fat. and J. H. Stanley, 50 cows,
overage of 586 pounds of milk
and 35.6 pounds of butterfat.
