The Washington squad, which
gathered on Nov. 1, has concen
trated cn fundamentals to date,
using one-on-one two-on-two and
three-on-three . drills to sharpen
their individual offensive and
defensive work. However, Dye
feels they're now ready to start
team drills because of the over-
' all experience on the squad.
The Husky roster was increas
ed by one last week when Dye
grought up Ray Cresap, a soph
omore guard, from the. Junior
Varsity as his 17th player. Cre
sap. who hails from Battle
Ground, was ineligible to play
as a freshman last season, but
looked good in early pratices
and may be a "sleeper" candi
date for the guard spot.

Amateur Boxing
Program Shifted

The locally-sponsored amateur
boxing event will be held on
Dec. 4 instead of Nov.' 27 as
previously announced, accord
ing to Officer Berle Stephens,
an official of the Medford Police
Athletic club.

fact, since . counting . began in
1946, the counts of returning
fish . had -exceeded the parent
runs. This year more than 6,600
adult spring salmon were count
ed over Winchester dam, the
parent run count was 2,593.
Only 1,974 chinooks passed the
counting station in 1946.

on the. north side of the north
Umpqua river just above the
