Bill Bowcrman, assistant ath

that four OSC represetativea es

More at Home
In Portland, Mrs. Donald
Clark, mother of the boy in

for the return of several injured
regulars.
Oregon's triumphant Ducks,
20-12 victors over Nebraska at
Lincoln Saturday, were greeted
on their arrival at Eugene yes
terday by a joyful band of fol
lowers. The victory put ' the
Ducks among only three confer
ence teams that posted victories
on the opening weekend of the
. football season.
The Beavers, who suffered the
worst defeat of the opening
week-end, went down 41-0 to
UCLA.
Coed Shape
Both teams appeared to have
come out without any serious
injuries.
It appeared likely that Jack
Peterson, left halfback who miss
ed the first game Because of pull
ed muscle, would be back in the
lineup next Saturday. And Ralph
Carr, also on the injured list,
probably will be in shape.
Coach Len Casanova had a
great deal of praise for his play
ers, pointing particularly to
George Shaw, the play-calling
youth who seemed to hit his
stride against the Comhuskers.
Casanova also praised Emery
Barnes, team captain, who was
effective on both offense and de
fense from his wing post

Cuts Insurance Rales
Delta, O. (U.R) This com
munity of 2,000 had a metropoli
tan traffic problem every time
the siren blew to summon the
32 volunteer firemen from fac
tories and stores.
Switchboard operators of the
local telephone company took at
least 10 minutes to notify the
volunteers. Then the firemen
had to battle their way through
the many cars that pulled out to
follow the fire truck.
Now, with a specially built
alarm system in the telephone
office, the operator pulls a master
switch joining all the phones of
the volunteers when she receives
'a fire report, alerting them all
in less than 10 seconds. The
town now gets reduced insurance
rates.

Use t different color on every eta la our .
Jubilee six-pack?" We were Jolted when the artist
suggested it. But we did it. We'd need ererjr color of
the rainbow to show, you these bright cans in
newspaper advertisement . . . but you can see the
mad, gay result wherever beer is told.
You'll have fun serving these "color-happy" Jubilee
cans. Not only is each one a different color, each
is also decorated with a different motif (a word the artist
chap taught us). And the inside of each can it deco

new Rainier beer will.
Be the first in your neighborhood to serve it in the
colorful, carefree Jubilee cans. They cost nothing extra.
The artist got such a kick out of all this that he
wouldn't accept pay, so we can sell the Jubilee Pack at
no increase in price. It's to unusual, however, that
your dealer may not want to part with one. Go ahead
and plead with him; it's worth it.
