gram of testimony and music
entitled, "What Think Ye of
Jesus." at the Eagle Point Com
munity church last evening.
Included on the program were
the choir numbers, "Ivory Pal
aces." "Jesus. Name I Love."
"All Hail the Power of Jesus'
Nam " and "God So Loved the
World." The male quartet com
posed of Torn Gannaway. uavia
Lauchner, Ned Landers, and Ted
Landers, and Ted Landers sang
Wonderful." by Yandell- Emily
Gannaway. Phyllis Brannock,
and Charlene Paull, the girls
trio, sang "Christ Alone Can
Satisfy," by Griggs.
Other Presentations

Pence, a graduate of Medford
High school and La Verne col
lege, is now located in New
Windsor, Md., the denomination's
headquarters for the volunteer
service program, as well as
church world service, refugee re
settlement, German student ex
change and heifer relief project.

Sermon Series
On Kipling Poem
The Rev. Hardwick W, Harsh
man will continue his sermon se
ries on Kipling's "If" this Sun
day at the First Methodist church
for both preaching services at
0:30 and II a.m., it was an
nounced today.
The sermon theme at both
services will be "Risking AU We
Have." The Sanctuary Singers
present the anthem, "The King
of Love My Shepherd Is," by
Shelley.
Youth Sunday will be ob
served at the 11 a.m. service with
Miss Mary Kay White reading
the scripture lesson and Ed Man
ley giving the pastoral prayer.

senior high Methodist youth fel
lowship will assist in the usher
ing at this service.
Youth Meetings Set
Miss Susan Schoppert will be
the soloist for both services and
will sing Jewett's "Teach Me To
Pray."
The junior high MYF will hold
its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alva
Perkins, 408 South Peach at.
The senior high MYF will
meet in the new dining room of
the church at 7 p.m. The Rev.
Willis Loar, minister of the
Eastwood Baptist church, will
show colored slides and speak
on "Honeymoon at Niagra." Fol
lowing the meeting at the church
the group will go to the home of
Doug and Stan Culy, 21 Washing
ton st., for their fireside. .
He and his wife, Crystal, have
completed one year of church
service and will return next
week for the second year. He
will illustrate his Sunday night
message with colored slides. "
Forum Planned
In the forum, following the
talk, there will be other volun
teer workers participating, one
from San Francisco, one from
Fresno, Calif., and Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Pence, Laton, Calif.,
who recently returned from two
years of volunteer work in Eu
rope. Gerald is brother of Clifford.
They are sons of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Pence, 101 North Kenwood
ave., Medford.
Special music Sunday will be
the Pence mixed quartet of Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Pence, and Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Pence. They
will sing at the 11 a.m. service.
The number will be "I May Not
Climb the Heights," by Brahms.
Both men were members of La
Verne college quartet. Gerald
will sing at the 8 p.m. service.
The Rev. J. R. Jennings has
chosen for his sermon topic for
the Sunday service at 11 a.m.,
"The Message of Jonah."

of Phoenix Church of the Naz
arene was held last week at the
home of Mrs. R. H. Bayne,
president.
A potluck dinner and social
hour preceded the meeting.
Mrs. T. S. Wiley conducted
the devotions. The Rev. and Mrs.
W. V. McArthur presented music
with the electric Hawaiian gui
tar and violirf.

the lesson from the study book
on missions in British Honduras.

Dr. Marshall Wells, MD., and
The Rev. Kenneth M. Wilson,
colleagues of Dr. D. K. West,
local pastor, in China mission
work, will occupy places on the
program of the First Presbyter
ian church this Sunday.
Dr. Wells will return to Thai
land next month where he is the
head of Bangkok Christian hos
pital. Mr. Wilson was an out
standing administrator of relief
in the city of Tsingtao, China,
where more than 250,000 people
were fed through the agencies
that he headed.
Mr. Wilson will preach at the
11 a.m. worship. Radio station
KYJC will broadcast this
service.
Dr. Wells will speak to vari
ous church school departments
in the morning and will bring
the message at the evening
service.

broadcast 'The Presbyterian

West will lead the worship and

The college class of the church
is reported continuing to grow
as it meets in the pastor's study
