One way of getting what you
want in the world ia by fighting
for it. The way you fight, how
ever, determines whether you
get it and keep the respect of
others or whether you come out
the winner only in what you set
out to get- How to train children
in this is the question asked by a
grandmother:

outcast from society.
Of course people should learn
to stand up for their rights, but
there are ways of doing this
without antagonizing others.
Nothing, I can assure you, will
antagonize more quickly than
the hitting-over-the-head method
your grandsons are learning to
use.
Asking for things politely but
firmly brings as good results as
fist fighting and it does not an
tagonize. Why not tell your
grandsons about this approach
and encourage them to use it?
Once they discover that it works
they will be willing to use it

lake, and keep right on living.
Second, lay in a peck of plain
wheat and use it instead of white
flour products and namy-pamby
cheat-food in your everyday diet,

The girl from Minnesota
didn't write to me, that is, not

of her birthday cake, says she
advises people who want to stay

roll a few somersaults each day,
as she does at 88.
I call this personable lady a
girl because at first look at her
picture I whistled twice one
short, one long.
She makes a lot of you people
half her age look decrepit.
She hasn t missed a day of
somersaulting and she hasn't
been ill a day since she began
somersaulting in 1918, under the
instruction, inspiration, instiga
tion what would you old geez
ers call it? of a health colum
nist who uses my name to propa
gate just such crazy notions.
In the pamphlet on Somer

across Bear creek will be known
as the Alex Sparrow bridge. The

County Engineer Paul Rynning
