and domiciliary officials, in
cluding Manager Paul A. Hatton,
doing the honors.
Marvin. Kahn, special services
chief, was master of ceremonies
and Ty Teorey, Al Birman and
John Berry were "general man
agers." Father John Cummisky
delivered an informal invoca
tion. He also announced his in
itiation at the ceremony and
said he finds such gatherings in
the open at this season of the
year a mighty good thing.

feast a quartet of musicians,
known professionally as Three
Notes and Dad, came over from
the Democratic "party" and re
galed the veterans with a reper
toire of songs.
The program included har
monica solos by Fred Howe and
Gene Crowder, songs by Gene,
and accordion and guitar num
bers by GI Joe Greco and Wil
liam Lowes. Tommy Thompson
did a piece of verse which was
read by Marvin Kahn. The two
octogenarians, and over, Messrs.
von Needa and Mclntyre, were
presented and Dave von Needa
told a tall story which was In
terrupted in the most exciting
part when the power went off.
Someone raced up to the meter
and dropped in another dime so
that he could resume over the
mike.
Cochairman Paul Olsen, of
the Trench Rats and Clyde Jes
sup of Grants Pass VFW Post,
in charge of arrangements, an
imated the party with conversa
tion and their talks over the
microphone, and cigarettes were
distributed as a parting gesture.
Having passed all tests and
conditions, Domiciliary Officer
Ruffin, Contact Officer Black
and Recreation Officer Girard
took guns and ammunition and
headed Friday for the Silver
Lake country, east of Klamath
Falls, to try their luck at bring
ing home a pronghorned ante
lope apiece.
The season opened the 16th
but there were conditions such
as drawing for permits and as
surances that they didn't have
last year. They have five days
and if they don't make the mis
take of bagging a doe instead of
a buck they will be back shortly.
Mrs. Enid L. Brown, secretary
to the manager, has returned
from a trip to Montana where
she visited her brother George
McDonald and an aunt, Eliza
beth Hamilton, at Philipsburg.
She returned to Camp White
with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Behan
who were driving back to Los
Angeles.
