Valley Kestdents Enjoy oun

Holiday and week-ends find hundreds of
. Rogue valley residents leaving worlc-p-day
cares behind to fish, swim or go boating on
: one of the near-by lakes or rivers, or to camp
ond picnic at a favorite spot.
Last week-end, with extra time available
because of the July Fourth holiday, recrea
tion spots throughout the area were crowded.
At Diamond lake, many Medford, Grants
Pass and Klamath Falls families spent the
long week-end at their summer homes, camp
ing, or at the lake resort.
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Goldy, Medford, had
a number of guests at their Diamond lake
cabin. Shown (at top left to right), are Mrs.
Wilbur C. Judy, Mrs. Richard Henselman,
Mrs.- Curt Madson, Portland, holding her
daughter, Cynthia, Mr. Judy, Mr. Madson
and Mr. Henselman enjoying the sun on the
lake shore. Mt. Thielsen is in. the background.
In the playpen are the Henselmans' son,
David, (in corner) and the Judys' daughter,
Patricia. The Goldys and their guests spent
the time swimming, fishing and boating,
with an occasional game of pitching horse
shoes. Camping at the Shorf Creek forest camp
were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gross, their daugh
ter, Sandra, and son, Roy (at left center). The
Gross family lives at 828 Palm street here.

The campers selected a spot from where they
could see Mt. Bailey across the lake for their
campsite and were toasting marshmcilows at
the campfire when the photographer came
along.
Shown (center right), are members of the
Summer Home Owners' association of Dia-
mond lake and their families who took ad
vantage of the holiday week-end and held
a picnic and association meeting at the lake
home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leverette. Mr.
Leverette Is president of the association.

with three state fish and game officials who
attended the picnic and meeting as guests.
Reaching for a slice of watermelon is Ken
Cockrun, fishery agent for the Diamond lake,
district for the Oregon State Game commis
sion, next is Don Allen, district ranger for the
Diamond lake area and ten Mathisen, re
gional supervisor for the state game commis
sion. Over at the resort the photographer
found two valley physicians and their fam
ilies, (below right) enjoying an cuting. Hold
ing the fish is Dr. Reinhold Kanzler, Med
ford, while Dr. Charles F. Hoey, Phoenix, is
seated in the boat. In the boat with Dr. Hoey
are (left to right) Mrs. Hoey, Mrs. Kanzler,
Barbara and Pat Hoey, Annalinde and Kath
