when I -fail to
serve ' you
promptly or at
all, and I be
lieve I could

fied customers if the job were
just a local one. But if you will
multiply the task by the numb
er of newspapers using my ser
vice throughout the- United
States and Canada you will have
a better conception of the size
of this occupational headache
of mine.
Incidentally, sarcastic cracks
about the bowling green do not
heighten my interest in your
problem. If some readers de
rive health benefits from this
column nowadays it is mainly
because I get great solace and
refreshment, not "relaxation"
from my pipe and my bowls
my seven-inch straight stem pipe
and five-inch biased bowls, that
is.
What happens, to keep the
service going, is a letter like
this:

betes can take only a limited quan
tity of sugar or starch in any form.
