Oregon Delegates Troubled
By Being Too Near Rostrum
Chicago (U.R) The Oregon
delegation had the best seats
in the house at the Republican
national convention Thursday,
but members still had a hard
time finding out what was go
ing on.
Seated in the front row, they
watched the maneuvering first
hand, but then the ' crashing
sounds of the nearby loudspeak
ers made it almost impossible
to understand what is being said
on the rostrum.
Gov. Douglas McKay, in the
front - and - center seat of the
convention front row, end seat,
center aisle, said his location
can prove embarrassing at
times.
