Mrs Faye Morse has gone to
Burbank, Calif., to attend the
wedding of a friend and on her
return trip home will bring her
two daughters, Diana and Pa
tricia Morse, back to spend the
summer at the Morse ranch.
Albany Man Given Aid
For Injury from Fall .

was fivan first aid at the Com
munity hospital early Sunday
morning for face lacerations,
' according to hospital attendants.
He was later released.
He received his injuries when
he fell in' a wash bowl ins the
Standard service station ! at
Fourth and Central avenue at
2:30 a.m., attendants said. Po
lice were called and Conger
Morris ambulance took LeFran
cis to the hospital.

Jold Hill Grange met Thurs
day with. Master Howes in the
chair. Candidates voted on were
Gary J. Price, nephew of the
Kampings, and Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Gabe. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Mickels were given the third
and fourth degree obligation.
Agriculture chairman Herman
Kamping reported that because
of loss of feed, midwest cattle
men are dumping feeder, beef
on the market; berry prices are
good, and that he could use a
few more pickers.
Glenn Chese spoke on the
milk control bill, cattle price
drop, also scarcity of feed, and
rain damage to hay.
Glenh Miller told of the ways
and means meeting at the Col
lins home last week. It was de
cided to begin the dances in
September. He announced a
chicken dinner to he served the
evening of Augustus. He stated
that he would like help in paint
ing the dining room before the
time of the dinner.
Hal Bishop stated that there
would be no pratice for the first
and second degree work to be
put on at the next meeting, July
17. -,
Lucy Edington introduced two
visitors, Sadie Frink Cyphers,
from Ocean Park, Calif., who
still belong to Sam's Valley
Grange, and Mrs. Lily Shumake,
member of this Grange, who has
not attended for a long time, she
is a sister of a former master,
John Gray, who now resides in
Arizona.
HEC Chairman Ethel Askins
asked for donations for the com
ing supper, and for help in the
kitchen and dining room. She
announced that ladies will bring
either cake or sandwiches to the
next meeting.
Nina D,usenberry said she is
collecting for the next rummage
sale, and would appreciate don
ations. Members were reminded
of the picnic to be held at the
city hall lawn on August 3, just
after church time.
Chaplain Iola Beman reported
that Robert Bush is better.
Charles Foote reported that
Robert Sutherland, brother-in-law
of Secretary Nora Wait is
still ill also that Orel Dahl is
much better, and able to walk

much improved and driving his
car again.
, Don Parker reported on 4-H
summer school, and the 4-H
camp to be held later. A lamb
fair is to be held at the Norman
Gail ranch on Highway 99 north
of Gold Hill on July 24.
Mrs. Adah Jones reported on
the 4-H summer school at Cor
valis, there being about 50 girls
from Jackson, county. She was
in charge of 21 girls.
Master Howes announced that
Pomona will meet at Butte Falls
on July 26 at 8 p.m.
