Newcomers in Medford

In recent months many new families have come to Medford to
make their homes.
Mr. and Mrs. Roland Gillespie (upper left) and their two sons
came here in May from Coquille. Mrs. Gillespie is holding Alan, 1,
and the older son is Terry, 2. Mr. Gillespie is manager of Pacific Feed
and Seed company and the family lives at 4 Glenn Oak court.
Mrs. Fred R. Brennan, (upper right) and Mr. Brennan, who is with
Medford -Investment company, came here only a few weeks ago and
are living in the Plaza apartments. For manyears the couple lived
in Lake Grove while Mr. Brennan was in business in Portland.
Among the newcomers now living in the valley are Mr. and Mrs.
Alexander Diepenbrock, German couple from Berlin. Mr. Diepen
brock, an architect, is with the Robert J. Keeney firm and the new
comers are living in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hofbeck, 231 1
Stage Road south. Mrs. Diepenbrock lower left) is shown here with
the Hofbeck's pet pomeranian, Skippy.
Major General Roy V. Rickard, retired officer of the United States
army, and Mrs. Rickard came to Medford several months ago and
have taken a home at 901 South Newtown avenue. The Rickards
are shown (lower 1 ight) with their son, Daniel S. Rickard, first class
man at the United States Military academy, who is home on a
month's leave. The Rickards' youngest son, James, was a freshman
at Michigan State college last year, and an older son, Thomas, lives
