Miss June Marie Bosworth be
came the bride of William
George Hughes in rites held
Sunday, June 22, at St. Mark's
Episcopal church. The Rev.
George R. V. Bolster read the
marriage service at two-thirty
o'clock in the afternoon, with
250 guests attending.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Page Bos
worth Jr., 2425 East Main street,
Medford, and the bridegroom is
the son of Mrs. Sherman Coch
ran, and Harry O. Hughes, both
Portland.
For the ceremony the church
had been decorated with garden
blossoms, and the altar vases
were filled with white delphin
ium and orange blossoms. Pre
lude music was supplied by the
bride's brother, Harlan P. Bos
worth IV, cellist, with Mrs. Ern
est Conrad at the organ. Vocal
soloist was Herbert Daniels,
Camp White.
The bride, whose father gave
her in marriage, wore a ballerina-style
gown of lace and net
with net sunburst skirt. Her veil
was finger-tip length and she
carried a nosegay of white
bride's roses centered with Ce
cile Brunner roses and encircled
with stephanotis.
Miss Elizabeth Mersereau, San
Jose, Calif., was honor attend
ant. Her gown was of shell pink
with sunburst pleated net skirt
over taffeta, and she carried a
nosegay of Cecile Brunner roses
encircled with carnations. Miss
Marge Petersen, Portland, Mrs.
Harper Hamilton and Mrs. Louis
LeMire, Medford, and Mrs. Fred
Foulon, Klamath Falls, complet
ed the list of attendants. They
wore frocks of aquamarine blue
to match the honor attendant's
gown, and their nosegays were
of Cecile Brunner roses and car
nations. Virgil Cavagnaro, Portland,
served as best man for Mr.
Hughes. Ushers were Robert and
David Bosworth, brothers of the
bride, Goodrich O. Hayes, Jr.,
and Sherman Cochran, Jr., bro
ther of the bridegroom, both
Portland.
The reception was held in the
garden of Mr. and Mrs. O. A.
Eden on Genessee street. Mrs.
John C. Boyle cut the bride
groom's cake and Mrs. Twila
Ferguson, Klamath Falls, the
bride's cake. Serving punch
were Miss Josephine Koppes,
Mrs. Richard W. Gray and Mr.

honey, Portland, Miss Dorice
Pancrost'and Miss Marcia Sum
mers, Dallas, Ore., and Mrs. Pat

church.
Music for the reception was
provided by the bride's brother,
Harlan, Bruno Pellegrini and
Lloyd Halvorsen.
Mr. and Mrs. Hughes are
spending their , honeymoon on
the Oregon coast and at moun
tain resorts, and after July 1
will be at home in Salem. The
bride, who was graduated from
the University of Oregon after
attending Medford and Klamath
Falls schools, has been on the
staff of the Polk county public
welfare administration the past
year as a caseworker. Mr.
Hughes was graduated from
Roosevelt High school, Portland,
Oregon State college and the
University of Syracuse, taking a
master's degree at the last school
earlier this month. He is now
employed by the Oregon state
forestry department.

An event of Sunday, June 15,
was the wedding of Miss Dixie
Lou Coutts, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Mosse, 32 Ashland
avenue, and James Moore Ed
wards Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
James Edwards of St. Louis, Mo.
The ceremony was held at two
o'clock in the afternoon at Sac
red Heart Catholic church with
the Rev. C. J. Linehan officiat
ing. About 100 guests attended.
Floral decorations were of all
white, and included arrange-1
ments of snapdragons, gladioli
and stock. Clusters of white
gladioli with satin bows marked
the pew ends.
Bruno Pellegrini was organist.
The bride's gown was of blush
pink chantilly lace, ballerina
style, and her finger-tip length
veil was held by a cap of .the
lace. She carried her white pray
er book with orchids.
Mrs. Louise LeMire was ma-
tron-of-honor, and other attend
ants were Mrs. Charles Nine
mires and Mrs. Jerome McDoug
all. The attendants wore frocks
of eyelet organdy, ballerina
length, over pastel colored taf
feta. Their headdresses were of
white maline with tiny rosebuds
and they carried nosegays of
rosebuds. Linda Morse, flower
girl, also wore eyelet organdy
over taffeta and carried a bas
ket of flowers.
Mr. Mosse escorted his daugh
ter to the altar and Harvey T
Carmicheal of Sacramento
Calif., was best man for the
bridegroom. Warren E. Adams
and Jack R. Conners, San Fran
Cisco, and Hugh P. Boyd, Eu
gene, seated the guests. .
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Mosse wore a powder blue
gown of lace arid faille with hat
of purple maline. Her flowers
were purple stock.
The reception which followed
the ceremony was at Rogue Val
ley Country club, which had been
decorated with pink and white
flowers. The bride's cake was en
circled with gardenias and flank
ed with pink and white tapers.
Pink and white snapdragons dec
orated the table from which
punch was served. An orchestra
played for dancing, with the
bride having the traditional first
dance with the bridegroom and
the second with her father.
Mr. Edwards and his bride
spent their honeymoon in San
Francisco and are living in Med
ford at 106 Ashland avenue. The
bride attended Medford Senior
High school and Southern Ore
gon college. She is now a teller
for United States National bank.
Mr. Edwards, who attended
Washington university, St. Lou
is, is now hotel representative
for Lever brothers.

For Vacation Visit;
Honored at Luncheons
Dr. Flora Ross and Mrs. Lois
Patterson of Decatur, 111., have
arrived in Medford to spend the
summer with Dr. Ross' sister,
Mrs. Mamie Sleeter, 1715 East
Main street.
Last week Mrs. Sleeter was
hostess for two luncheons which
honored the two visitors, invit
ing friends to her home for both
parties. Dr. Ross and Mrs. Pat
terson have visited her many
times in the past, and last year
the three women made a tour of
Europe together.
Mrs. Sleeter and her guests
will spend most of the summer
at Mrs. Sleeter's summer home
at Lake o' Woods.

The bride's mother wore a
melon colored dress with white

sage, and the bridegroom's

suit with brown accessories and
orchid corsage.
During the reception in the
church parlor, Mrs. George Holz
gang cut the wedding cake, with
Miss Dorothy Klatt and Miss
Ann Hart assisting with the
serving. Mrs. C. Wayne Chase
served punch, and Mrs. Kenneth
Pickens, aunt of the bride,
poured coffee. In charge of the

Festival Chorus
To Hold Rehearsal;
Musicians Needed
Hans Lampl, director of music
for the 1952 Oregon Shakespear
ean . festival, stated , Saturday
that another rehearsal of the
festival chorus is set for Mon
day, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. at
Roosevelt school.
The chorus first met last week
and Mr. Lampl states that he is
most pleased with the quality of
the voices of singers who joined
the chorus, and with the singers
enthusiasm. However, additional
singers are needed, particularly
men and women with high so
prano voices, the director added.
Director Lampl is also in need
of instrumental musicians for an
orchestra and small instrument
al ensembles. It was pointed out
that for professional and experi
enced instrumentalists, ' the re
hearsal schedule, and also the
performance schedule, will be
light. Instrumental musicians
are urged to contact Director
Lampl and discuss the season's
program.

In Outdoor Shovv
All active members of South
ern Oregon Society of Artists
will participate in the first an
nual Greenwich Village art show
which the society will hold July
13. The show will be in the Old
City Park on West Main street
from 1 to 5 p. m.
Among the members who will
paint during the show will be
Clifford Platz and Hal Bishop.
They will also have numerous
pictures on display. Mrs. Bish
op, owner of the Art center,
paints in his spare time for pleas
ureand Mr. Platz is both sales
man and artist. Eugene Ferrell,
executive of Fluhrer's bakery,
will also display work in the
park show. All three men work
in oils.
The society is sponsoring the
show in order to provide an op
portunity for those interested in
art to meet members of the
society and to watch them at
work.
New Evening Circle
A newly organized evening
circle of First Christian church
will hold its first meeting at the
home of Mrs. Ron Gandee, 1575
E. McAndrews Road at 8 p. m.
Monday, June 30.
Miss' Dolores Lee, who will
lead the group, extends an invi

the church who would enjoy
Christian fellowship but who are
unable to attend daytime meetings.
