Stolen Car Almost
Brings End to Thief
Houston, Tex. (U.R) It was
n't the law officers but the car
that he stole that almost meant
the end of a youthful car thief.
Detectives Leroy Mouser and
M. L. Singleton spotted the stol
en vehicle as It was being driven
along a Houston street. They be
gan a chase.
The youth led them for five
miles, then slowed ,the vehicle
and leaped into a ditch, the car
still moving.
ine youth started to run up
an embankment when he looked
back and saw the car roaring at
him at full speed, driverless. He
barely crawled over the top of
the embankment before the ear
plowed Into where he had been
crawling a split second before.
Before the officers could stop
and get out of their car the fu
gitive had disappeared In some
underbrush.

As explained in the pamphlet
The Iodin Ration, available on
written request if you provide
stamped, self-addressed enve

suffer from iodin deficiency
though they may have no appar

(goitre). For want of a suitable
daily intake of iodin these chil
dren mope and daydream a good
deal and show more lassitude
than healthy youngsters should,
but they do not ordinarily ex

which troubles older persons
with Iodin deficiency.
I never advise others to take
or do anything I wouldn't take
or do myself, be it castor oil,
somersaults, digitalis, aspirin,
brushing teeth, acetanilid, Pas

or a pledge of total abstinence.
But I don't take the iodin ra

to take mine along with my

phorus, thiamin (Bl), riboflavin
(B2) and D, all combined in tab
lets that are pleasant to eat,
vitamin-mineral tablets as
daily supplement to the ordinary
diet in the pamphlet Young
Folks and Old Folks. This also
is free if you provide stamped
self-addressed envelope, or for
both in one envelope, ten cents
additional.
In a talk to follow suggestions
for improving the ability of a
growing child to study, maintain
attention and get better marks in
school will be given.
