Keeping Camp White green is
a Job six enthusiastic members
have undertaken in-watering and
tending patches of lawn which
the engineering crew has pre
pared. A great deal of watering and
weeding is necessary and the
vets who are doing 'this work

some time ago at the chapel en

Twenty wheel chair men will
go to Grants Pass Sunday, June
22, on a special fishing jaunt
arranged by Del Rogue Post
VFW, Gear, bait and lures as
well as a private pool are to be
provided and a fish fry will cap
the day i catch.

'52 Catfish Derby
Rules Announced;
Event is Sunday
Rules of the 16th annual Na
tional Catfish derby, scheduled
for Sunday, June 22, at Tou-
Velle state park, were announced
here today by officials of the
event.
The derby will be open to "all
male and female persons, single
or married, who are between the
ages of 6 months and 150 years
and who are .residents of the
United States.
Any Body of Water
Catfish entered in the derby
may be caught in any stream
lake, reservoir, creek or other
body of wat?r situated within
the continental limits of the
United States. Fish entered for
Judging may be caught any time
prior to the closing hour for
registration, providing fish are
in good condition. The rules state
that "Judges may disqualify fish
not in a good state of preserva
tion.
Prizes will be awarded for
the biggest catfish, for the larg
est number of catfish caught by
any one contestant, and for the
youngest and oldest contestants
entering one or more fish.
A grand sweepstakes trophy
will be awarded on the basis
of over all fishing ability. Scor
ing will be based on the number
of catfish, average length, aver
age weight, general condition
and appearance of catfish, and
originality of costume of con
testant. Must Catch Own Fiih
Contestants must actually
catch the fish which they enter
for Judging. They must also com
ply with all federal and state
game and fish laws, including
having possession of a 190 Z fish
ing license. There are no regis
tration fees for entering the
derby, and all entries will re
main the property of the fish
ermen.

writes in one of his occasional
reviews of his ramblings along

singing as they fed In the oaks;

like the song of the blackhearted
grosbeak but more subdued In
tone and with shorter phrases,"
he writes.
