ernoon. About 130 guests were
present.
Soloist was Mrs. James Am
nion, sister of the bride.
For her wedding the bride
wore a ballerina length gown
with lace bodice, long sleeves
and net skirt. A headdress of
orange blossoms held her short
veil and she carried a prayer
book with orchids.
Miss Donna Shaw, maid-of-honor,
wore nile green net and
carried red rose buds. The
bridesmaids were Mrs. Lee Zie
mer, sister of the bride from
Seattle: Mrs. James Keeble. sis
ter of the bridegroom, Medford.

Betty Farrar, Medford. Miss Far
rar wnie pink. Miss Payne's
frock was maize color, Mrs. Kee
ble wore a frock of orchid shade
and Mrs. Ziemer's gown was
blue. The gowna were of net
worn with floral headdresses.
All carried nosegays.
For the wedding Mrs. Larsen
wore a gown of rose with purple
orchid corsage. The bridegroom's
mother wore deep blue lace with
dusty pink bat and pink orchid
corsage.
Mr. Larsen gave his daughter
In marriage, and Mr. Keeble was
best man for his brother-in-law.

Miss Claire Hanley
Is President-Elect
Of State Federation
Miss Claire Hanley, member
of Jacksonville Garden club, was
named president-elect of the Ore
gon Federation of Garden clubs
at the annual convention in Port
land. Miss Hanley, widely known
in southern Oregon for her gard
ening interests, has held office
in the federation in past years.
Mrs. E. W. Jermark, Ashland,
was elected state recording sec
retary. Several Jackson county wo
men, including Miss Hanley. at-
; tended the convention. Medford
Garden club delegates were Mrs.
E. M. Wallin and Mrs. J. J.
Brugman. Mrs. Wallin is president-elect
of the Medford group.
Other Medford women attend
ing were Mrs. R. T. Nichol, a
member of both the Medford and
Jacksonville Garden clubs; Mrs.
Ivan Davles. and Mrs. W. A.
Freeland, who was appointed
Siskiyou district director.
Mrs. Nichol was named state
program chairman during the
convention.
The Medford club won second
prize for its year book, compiled
by Mrs. H. E. Bush.
Mrs. Lawrence Luy, Jackson
ville, also attended, and Mrs. J.
H. von Kuhlman, Ashland, repre
sented Ashland Garden club.
Mrs. L. W. Franks, Redmond.
Ore., is the new state president
of the federation.
Wilfred Hanson
Receives Degree
Mrs. Gottfred Hanson and
daughter, Astric. Table Rock
road, returned Tuesday from
Corvallis where they attended
graduation ceremonies at Oregon
State college.
Wilfred Hanson, son of Mrs
Hansort and the late Gottfred
Hanson, was a member of the
graduating class, taking a bach
elor of science .degree in the
school of pharmacy. Mr. Hanson
and his family will now live in
Salem where he will be on the
staff of a drug store. He was
graduated from Medford high
school with the class of 1944.

Health Association
Delegates To Attend
Institute in Salem

delegates of the Jackson County
Public Health association to at
tend a summer health institute,
in Salem beginning tomorrow
through June 20. The session will
be held on the Willamette uni
versity campus. Ben D. Klning
ham, executive secretary of the
Illinois Tuberculosis association
will be the guest speaker and
consultant.
Mr. Kiningham is considered
well qualified to assist in prob
lems on board member educa
tion, program planning and
budgeting, the association atates.
The board of the Jackson coun
ty association met June 11 In
the home of Mrs. Cotton in Ash
land. Plant for the year were
discussed.

Planned for Saturday;
Bride-Jo-Be Honored
Miss Lois Wiley, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Wiley, left

corporal in the United States
Air Force. The couple will live
in Santa Ana, Calif.
The bride-elect was an honor
guest at a bridal shower given
June 10 at the home of Mrs.
Dean Pruett, 206 South Orange
street. Co-hostesses were Mrs.
John Cox and the Misses Ger
trude and Marie Wimmer. The
Misses Wimmer are cousins of
Miss Wiley.
The refreshment table was ar
ranged with yellow and white
snapdragons and in an archway
was a decorated umbrella which
held the smaller gifts given to
the honor guest. Yellow and
white themed the decorations
about the rooms.

wedding of Miss Mary' Ann
Miksche. daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Anthony Miksche,
$13 Minnesota avenue, to Peter
Thomas Trim of Saskatoon, Saa-
katchewan, Canada. The bride
groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. :
William J. Trim of Prince Al
bert, Saskatcnewan.
The ceremony was read at two
o'clock in the afternoon at Sa-j
cred Heart Catholic church by
the Rev. C. J. Lin eh an. The
bride's brother, Leo Miksche,
who came from New York City
for the wedding, was soloist.
Bruno Pellegrini waa at the
organ.
Tne bride, escorted to the altar
by her father, wore a tradition
al wedding gown of candlelight
satin designed with train. Her
veil was held by a tiny cap and
she carried gardenias of ivory
tone. Mrs. Laurence A. Neer, sister
of the bride from Ft. Ord. Calif.,
was matron of honor, and brides
maids were Miss Barbara Green
and Miss Joan Dean, Medford,
and Misa Dorothy Anderle and
Misa Susan Barnes, Portland.
Mrs. Neer wore a frock of nile
green lace and taffeta and car
ried an arm bouquet of white
peonies. The bridesmaid's gowns
were of pale pink lace and taf
feta and their arm bouquets were
of pink and white peonies.
Small Maryanne Wilkinson of
Ashland was flower girl. She
wore a pink net frock and car
ried a basket of roses.
Thomas Nordby of White Sal
mon, Wash., was best man and
ushers were Lt. Laurence A.
Neer, Donald Wilkinson. Chester
Lenieve and Norbert Miksche,
brother of the bride from Prine
ville. The ceremony, attended by
about 150 guests, was followed
by a reception at Rogue Valley
Country club.
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Miksche wore a grey lace
gown with purple hat and shoes
and her corsage was an orchid.
The bridegroom's mother wore
a blue gown with white hat and
her flowers were pink begonias.
The church decorations were
of pink and white peonies, and
were the work of Mrs. Lester
Adams and Mrs. Martin Sands.
Mrs. Ernest Barnes arranged the
reception decorations.
Mr. Trim and his bride will
honeymoon at Canadian resorts
and will live at Saskatoon, where
the bridegroom is on the faculty,
of the University of Saskatche
wan. The bride attended the Uni
versity of Oregon, where she was
a member of Delta Zeta sorority,
and Mr. Trim attended the Uni
versity of British Columbia and
the University of Oregon. He
is a Kappa Sigma.
Here for the wedding were the
bridegroom's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Trim, and his sister.

Wed in Portland
Misa Shirley Ann Clifford and
Vernon A. Groves were wed
June 4 in rites held at Sellwood
Methodist church in Portland.
About 300 persons attended the
candlelight ceremonies at 8
o'clock in the evening.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clifford, Port
land, and the bridegroom's par-i
ents are the Rev. and Mrs. Mere
dith A. Groves, Medford.
The bridegroom's father, who
is minister of First Methodist
church here, performed the
service, assisted by another son,
the Rev. Meredith R. Groves,
minister of the Boise, Ida.,
First Methodist church.
The double ring rites were
used and the ceremony took
place at 8 o'clock In the eve
ning.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore an informal
white eyelet organdy dress over
blue. She carried a nosegay of
white roses and blue delphin
ium. Mrs. Meredith R. Groves,
sister-in-law of the bridegroom,
was matron of honor. She wore
yellow eyelet organdy over yel
low and carried a nosegay of
yellow and white flowers.
Virginia TJomsland, cousin of
the bride,' was flower girl, and
Teddy Williams, another cousin,
was ring bearer. The flower girl
carried a basket of roses and
blue delphinium.
White gladiolus and blue del
phinium decorated the church
altar.
Eugene Groves. Medford, a
brother of the bridegroom, was
best man and ushers were Fred
Cummings, Woodburn, and Jim
Morgali, Salem.
Wedding music was furnished
by Ted Maceivenna.
About 230 guests attended the
reception held in the church
rooms.
The couple mad a wedding
trip to Devil's lake on the coast.
They will live for the summer
at 310 Laurel street, Medford.
Both attended Willamette uni
versity and both are instructors
at the Oregon School for the
Blind, Salem. The bride it a
girls' gymnasium instructor, and
the bridegroom it an assistant
dean.
The bride earlier attended
Washington High school in Port
land, and the bridegroom at
tended Medford Senior high
school.
The bridegroom will work at
Elk Lumber company during the
vacation month. Both will be
seniors at Willamette univer
sity this fall and will continue
their work at the school for the
blind. After graduation from the
university they both plan to at
tend Boston Theological school.

daughter of Mrs. Beulah Brown,
Yakima, Wash. She is a 1951
Medford Senior high graduate
and is employed here by the Bell
Telephone company. Her fiance
also it a Medford Senior high
school graduate and now is as
sociated with an insurance com
pany. His parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Fenton Earnest, 60 North
Orange street.
Guests included the Misses
Carol Herdman, Marlene Mor
rison, Mary Hoskins, Lois Ann
Glenn, Barbara Hobbs, Mrs. J.
W. Axtell and Mrs. Dwyer, Mrs.
DeCarlow, Miss Kaufman and
the honored guest.
Decorations included a May.
pole. Baskets, each containing a
handkerchief, were given as a
favor to each guest. Games in
keeping with the occasion were
played and refreshments were
served.

Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Gribble,

Elva Krenrick of Michigan state,
left Friday for San Francisco.
There they will visit a former
college classmate of Mrs. Grib
ble's who recently returned to
the states after living for some
time In Hawaii.
