Joint Memorial Day Ceremonies Slated At Central Point

It was announced today.
A parade will start at 9:30
a.m., and will end at the city
park where special services will
be held. Music for the parade
and services will be by the 60
piece Crater high school band
under the direction of Harry
Meyers.
The Rev. Norman Tully will
give the Memorial address, with
the invocation and benediction
by the Rev. Rolf Hansen.
After the ceremonies, the
procession will go to the Bear
Creek bridge, where the Navy
Mothers club will hold services
for Navy dead, and to the IOOT
cemetery, where the Women's
Relief Corps will pay tribute
to veteran dead.
Honor Guard
A detachment from the Med
ford National Guard units, un
der the command of Lt. Roy
Huson, will be honor guard, and
will fire salutes. Taps will be
sounded by a Guard bugler.
Groups participating in the
ceremonies will include the
Myers-Holland post of the Amer
ican Legion, Central Point post
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
and the auxiliaries of both; the

old Wednesday.
Marie, Cecile Annette, Emilie
and Yvonne celebrated their
coming into adult womanhood at
a family birthday party after
opening the day with Mass said
in the private chapel of their
home.
Old Enough To Wed
They're now old enough to
marry without their father's per
mission, but Oliva Dionne said
it wasnl' likely they'd do so very
soon.
"They've got no boy friends,'
he explained.
Before the big day is over, the
world's five most famous sisters
will receive matched rhinestone
necklaces, bracelets and earrings
from their father and be graduat
ed from a private school.
Congratulations Received
Messages of congratulations
and best wishes already were
pouring into their Ontario North
land villa from many lands and
many peoples.
However, even their neigh
bors will not see much of the
birthday party, as the quintup
lets indicated they would not
leave the grounds of their Villa
Notre Dame home.
The party was somewhat of a
family reunion for the Dlonnes
and their 13 children. Some of
Ihem came from hundreds of
miles away.

primary received write-in votes
which will place their names on
the ballot at the general election
November 4, providing they file
certificates of nomination be
tween July 28 and August 25.
Elwood Hussey, Cave junc
tion, received 36 Democratic
write-in votes for representative
in the state legislature from the
18th representative district, com
prising Josephine county. If he
files his certificate of nomina
tion, Hussey, will oppose Lloyd
E. Haynes, Republican nominee,
at the general election, Ed Kin
stra, Grants Pass, received 29
Democratic write-in votes for the
same office.

five hacksaw blades through a
cell block keyhole to a jailed
