Sure of Tie
In ND Play
By UNITED PRESS
The University of Washington,
assured of at least of a tie, need
ed only to defeat Idaho again
Tuesday to clinch the Northern
Division baseball championship.
The Huskies were a cinch to
at least tie with Oregon State
when they walloped the Vandals
Monday, 17-4. Another win in
their final conference game of
the season would give the title
and the right to meet Southern
California, Southern Division
champion, for the Pacific Coast
conference championship.
However, if the Vandals
hould pull an upset and win
their first home game of the sea
son, Oregon State would become
the "unofficial" title-holder be
cause the Beavers won three of
four games with .Washington.
A conference regulation de
cides tiei by giving the team
winning the series the right to
play for the coast crown.
