Mind Changed Too Late To
Save Common-Law Husband
From Trouble With Police

lowy, 19-year-old blonde, who
laid she was "tired of being
beaten by her common law hus
band and wanted him "put
away," changed her mind but
the damage already was done.
In her anger, Camllle S. Divish
turned her diary over to police.
Dinner Meeting Set

ner meeting, open to all mem

Masonic Temple Friday evening,
it was announced today.
A potluck dinner will be
served at 6:30, followed by the
stated communication of the
lodge at 8 p.m. An open meeting,
to which all are invited, will be
gin at 9 p m , during which
"Waves of Green," a documen
tary film saluting American ag
riculture and our land-grant col
leges, will be shown.

Officers scanned its record of
crimes committed in Cleveland
Nashville, Tenn., Bruccton, De
troit and Wichita, then promptly
arrested Atlas Leon Morphis, 26,
Bruceton, Tenn., who Miss Div
ish said was her common law
husband.
He admitted the burglaries.
Camille was released by police
Tuesday night, but not before
she gave a statement detailing
two years of crimes committed
in four states they ranged from
bank and post office burglaries
to simple burglaries.
When it was all over, Camille
announced she would remain in
Wichita, "Look for a job and
stick by him."
Earlier she had told officers.
"I'm tired of him beating on me.
I want him put away; he's a
burglar anyway."
