Griffin Creek Hosts Colonial Laws To Be
Pre-School Children
Children who will enter the
first grade at Griffin Creek
school next fall have been invit
ed to attend Beginners' day to
be held Friday afternoon, Mny 9,
at 1:30, according to officers of
tht Griffin Creek Mothers' club
sponsoring the event.
Mrs. , W, Chapman, first
grade teacher, will be in chargo
and students of her first grade
room are to be hosts for the
party planned and for the tour
of the building and other activi
ties. The program is planned to
acquaint new students with the
school plant and with the teach
ers. All children of school district
No. 2 who will enter school for
the first time are urged to at
tend, and mothers are asked to
accompany them. They are to be
special guests at a meeting of the
mothers' club held the same
afternoon.

CLUBS
Antolopo Cooking Club '
The last official meeting of
Antelope 4-H club was held at
the home of Lucy Gardner on
May 3, preceded by a picnic
lunch. It was decided that on
May 10 after Sunday school, the
girls of the Cooking and Sewing
clubs would go to the home of
Lucy Gardener for a picnic
lunch and a day of swimming or
boating.
All the girls arc to bring their
record books.
On May 10, the girls will have
a cake rale in Brown's store at
Eagle Point. Proceeds will go to
help finance a 4-U summer
school scholarship.

The public is invited to a "Re
publican Candidates' Rally for
Contested Offices," Thursday at
8 p.m., in the Medford YMCA
according to Bob Dickey, chair
man of the Jackson County

candidates for contested nomi
nations are invited to the rally
to express their views to all in
terested citizens and all Young
Republicans. The Young GOP
chairman stressed the fact that
young Republicans, whether
members of the county group or
not, are invited to the meeting
