ford Junior Rifle club's annual
club championship Monday night
with a score of 197. The victory
also gave Lawson the .National
Rifle Association's club cham
pionship. Twenty-three, members
of the club took part in cham
pionship contention.
Course of fire for the cham
pionship event was 20 shots from
prone position with iron sights.
K Tom Winters took second place
In the match with a score of 194.
He was followed by Richard
Leibbrand, 188; Margaret Tay
lor, 188, and Daryl Gideon, 185.
The club will hold its annual
party for members and their par

Loan Two Players
To Japanese Team
Chicago (U.R) Two St.
Louis Browns farm players were
on their way to Japan Tuesday,
where they will play on loan
with the Hankyu Braves of the
Japanese Pacific League.
Brownie President Bill Veeck,
who announced the transfer,
said it was the first time in base
ball history that American ath
letes have been loaned to a club
outside the continental United
States and Canada.
The players, both Negroes, are-
John Britton and James New
berry. .They flew to Honolulu
where they will continue to
Japan. They are expected to ar
rive there Wednesday night.
Zion Lutheran Pastor
Leaves for New Post
Dr. O. W Ebright, pastor of the
Zion Lutheran church here for
more than two years, left yes-
terday for his new position as
executive director of the Califor
nia Lutheran Home for the Aged
in Alhambra, Calif.
Dr. and Mrs. Ebright were sur
prise guests of honor at a potluck
dinner held after church Sun
day, and were presented with
going-awey gifts by the congre
gation. More than 199 members
attended the event.
The couple planned to visit
various cities on the coast en
maintain a 50-50 average in the
won and loss records.
This scries, with its natural
rivalry probably will be the
biggest attendance booster for
the PCL this week. In other
games Portland visits Oakland,
Hollywood goes to Sacramento

and is reported to be improving.
