KOG Green Guards
Invited to Enter
Poster Competition
Jackson County Green Guard
members Saturday were invited
to take part in the eighth an
nual state-wide fire prevention
poster contest sponsored by the
Keep Oregon Green association.
Members of the guard may enter
contest posters from April 15 to
30, according to Lewis L. Simp
son, county KOG chairman.
Poster contest entries will be
divided into two age divisions.
A junior division will include
members betweon 8 and 12 years
of age and the senior division
will include those from 12 to
16 years old.
Four 35 prizes are to be award
ed in each division. Division
first place winners will receive
a $10 prize, a trip to a state fire
warden's headquarters near the
Tillamook burn and will receive
their cash prizes from Dean
Paul M. Dunn of the Oregon
State college school of forestry.
The size of the posters must
be 11 by 14 inches. Only one
poster may be submitted by each
Green Guard and must be his
own work. On the back of each
poster the contestant must print
his name, address, age and
school. All posters will become
the property of the Keep Oregon
Green association after judging
Code Practice Table
Completed by Groups
The Rogue Valley Radio club,
the civil defense agency and the
civil air patrol have recently
finished building an eight-position
table for radio code practice,
members of the organizations
said Saturday. The table has
been installed in the clubroom
at the Jackson county fair
grounds. The civil air patrol will use
the table with civil defense stu
dents Mondays at 7:30 p.m. The
radio club plans to use the table
Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. The table
Is laid out with station calls
for beginners. Members of the
organizations point out, how
ever, that most amateurs wish
ing to increase code speed use
their own station call letters.
Instruction in network opera
tion is being offered for an ad
vanced group. Interested persons
are invited to attend radio club
meetings. Those attending are
required to furnish key and ear
phones with a plug.
'China Lobby' Probe
Demands Renewed

sional demands for an investiga
tion of the so-called China lobby
have been revived here by docu
ments reporting that Chinese
diplomats sought a "secret" pipe
line to high Democratic officials
in 1950.
Sen. Wayne Morse, R.-Ore.,
submitted the documents for the
Congressional Record. He said
they showed the need for "reap
praisal" of U.S. Far Eastern pol
icy. He pressed for prompt ac
tion on his proposal for an In
vestigation of the "China lobby."
