New Credit Club
Announces Name;
To Hold Meeting
Rogue Valley Chapter of the
Credit Women's Breakfast Clubs
of North America has been se
lected as the name of the newly
formed unit of the club organized
in Medford. The new group has
members from Medford, Central
Point and Jacksonville, and Ash
land women are also eligible.
The club will meet the first
and third Friday of each month,
with the first meeting of the
month to be a breakfast meeting
at 7 a.m. and the meeting on the
third Friday to be in the evening.
Next session will be Friday,
April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the
Jackson hotel.
Last meeting of the club was
held in the conference room of
the Credit bureau, 223 West
Sixth street. Twenty-two women
attended. A constitution was sub
mitted and adopted.
Mrs. Inez Walgamott of Leon's,
Mrs. Alice Halgren, Medford
branch, First National bank and
Miss Mary Johnson, Central
Point branch, First National
bank, were named to the execu
tive committee.
Mrs. Myrtle P. Lee, curator
of the Jacksonville museum and
a member of the Portland Break
fast club, attended the meeting
and the new group expressed
its gratitude for her assistance.
It was announced that a group
of Grants Pass women will meet
Sunday, April 20, to institue a
Breakfast club in that area.
Members of the local club are

for the hospital patients for

of Easter bonnets constructed
from dollies, custard cups, and
bits of flowers, veiling, and rib
bon made to fit over nests of
Easter eggs.

To Give Messiah
As Easter Feature
Ashland Presentation of the
entire oratorio "Messiah," by
Handel, will be a special Eas
ter day feature on radio station
KWIN, Ashland. The recorded
program (7-9 p, m.) will feature
the Huddersfield Choral society
directed by Sir Thomas Beech
am. The program Is another ex
ample of practical application
of classroom work by a South
ren Oregon college student. Staf
ford Thomas, Melbourne, Aus
tralia sophomore, has planned
the presentation and will offer
explanatory commentary.
The student has been present
ing a weekly series of recorded
classical music which he calls
"Symphony Hall." Each Sunday
from 8 to 9 p. m. he selects
a repertoire of well known num
bers. Relying on his background
of musical knowledge supple
mented by current research, the
youthful commentator prepares
and delivers descriptions of each
work. '

the weekly program. He says it
gives him an opportunity to cre
