Establishment of a special
depot for distribution of Easter
teals to persons not included on
Campaign mailing lists was an
nounced today by Mrs. Chester
Peterson, who will be in charge
of the booth.
She will be assisted by Mrs.
Russell Roseborough and Mrs.
Roy Howe. The booth will be
located at Mann's Department
store Wednesday through Fri
day from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The
booth will be sponsored by Ep
silon Sigma Alpha sorority. -
Mrs. Peterson urges all per
sons who have not received seals
through the mail to purchase
them at the booth and to par
ticipate in the fifth annual drive
for funds to aid crippled chil
dren and adults.

Panel Talks To End
Conservation Program
Ashland "Conservation of
Natural Resources In Southern
Oregon" will be the theme of a
panel discussion to be held at
7:30 p.m. today at Southern Ore
gon college. The program will
climax a two-day conservation
workshop sponsored coopera
tively by the science and teach
er education departments of the
college.
Purpose of tonight's round
table will be to review the many
phases of conservation discussed
during the special program, ac
cording to Dr. H. S. Fowler, as
sistant professor of physical sci
ence. He urged that persons in
terested in preserving forests,
soil and wildlife attend the session.

"Today's Child in Our Commun
ity," with a representative of the
school, the church and the home
taking part. Mrs. Albert Beman.

a.m. in the comunity clubroom
in the Odd Fellows building.
Mrs. Lester Thomoson and Mrs.
Hannah Routh will be project
leaders. All women of the com
munity are invited. A pot-luck
luncheon will be served at noon.
Those attending are asked to
bring their own table service.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Newnham
of Fourth avenue received word
Sunday of the death of Mr
Newnham's brother. Jack, at
San Bernardino. Calif. Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Newnham had re
turned home last Friday after a
trip to Southern California to
see his brother, who was then re
ported to be critically ill. They
will leave again for California to
attend the funeral servlces
whlch are to be held Thursday
in San Diego. '

American engineering firm of
Morrison-Knutsen were shown
at the luncheon meeting of the
Medford Rotary club Tuesday
by A. D. Harvey. Medford civil
engineer. The films. prerated
at the Jackson hotel with Carlos
Morris handling the projector,
depicted the strides made in
harnessing the rivers of Afghan
istan and transforming the des
erts of that historic land Into
richly fruitful agriculture areas.
Morrison-Knutsen. the world's
largest engineering firm, en
tered into the ambitious recla
mation program under contract
with the government of Afghan
istan. One feature of the travelogue-type
moving pictures was
the quick adaptation of natives
to the operation of modern me-,
chanized construction equip
