German Orphan, 3,
Arrives for Hew
Home in States
Seattle 0JJD A three-year-old
German orphan arrived at
the home of his new parents
Wednesday after completing a
"solo" flight which began in bis
homeland two and one-half days
ago.
For the parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William Paulgen of Seattle, It
was the end of a dream which
began nearly three years ago.
They have no children of their
own.
Found By Brother
"We thought we'd like to
adopt a child from Germany,'
Mrs. Paulgen said, "so we wrote
to my husband's brother, Ar
thur, who was over there. We
asked him to find an orphan boy
for us."
Arthur was finally successful.
The lad was placed aboard the
plane when it landed here last
night, but it seemed an eternity
to the Paulgens. The child was
the last person off the ship.
Walt Worth Effort
But the wait was worth the
effort. When the stewardess put
the boy in Mrs. Paulgen's arms,
she could hardly talk.
"He's going to be happy here,"
the father said.
They weren't too excited to
give the boy a new name, how
ever. From now on, . he'll be
known as Arthur William Paul
