Special Easter season religious
services will be observed by
Chaplains Anderson and Cam
is ky. Beginning with Holy
Thursday, Chaplain Anderson
will have a communion service
in the chapel at 10:30 a. nr. At 8
p.m. there . will be an Easter
musical festival in the theater
with the Apostolic Faith chorus
and orchestra furnishing the
music. At 10:30 a.m. on Good
Friday a meditation on the cross
will be observed. Sunday Chap
lain Anderson will preach in the
chapel on "Resurrection Life." A
Bible story at 6:30 p.m. Easter
Sunday by Mrs. James Cech will
complete Chaplain Anderson's
Easter program.
Formal observance of the
Easter season will begin Holy
Thursday with Chaplain Cum
isky saying a communion mass
at 7 a.m. His evening services on
that day will consist of a sermon
and special easter devotions. On
Good Friday, Chaplain Cumisky
will preach at 7 pjn., with ador
ation and stations of the cross.
Holy Saturday he will hear con
fessions throughout the day and
evening. Easter Sunday there
will be two masses, the first at
7 a.m., the second at 9 a.m.
Camp White Fishing club's first
trip was a decided success.
Thirty-nine men made the
jaunt and the waters fished were
the sloughs and ponds just north
of Bybee bridge, adjacent to the
Rogue river. Emigrant lake was
to have been the scene of the first
foray but water conditions were
too high and muddy to warrant
the journey.
Although there were not a lot
of catfish taken this first day,
there is every indication that
soon where we fished last Satur
day there will be some real re
sults shown. The kitchen of the
station furnished the lunches.
The men left at 9 a.m. and were
back at 3:15 p.m. And everybody
had a good time.
Ted Brown of Medford went
along to oversee things. Horace
Isaccs and Ben Anderson made a
big hit with their coffee cooked
logging camp style.
. Mary Ridgely who has worked
in our kitchen for two years has
joined her husband in a business
venture. The Ridgelys have
bought the Ragsdale market in
Eagle Point and will operate it
Mary will leave the employ of
Camp White. Their many friends
at the station wish them the best
of luck.
We have just finished reading
the "Bois-dArc Post" printed by
the members of the VA Center
at Bonham, Texas. It was No. 1,
Vol. I and on its staff of writers
is none other than "Izzy" Gros
tein whose friendship we much
enjoyed while he was at Camp
White. "Izzy" is the author of
two very well written stories. He
checked into Bonham March 20
and the fact that he is there dis
pels the hope he would return
to Camp White this spring. This
writer was very fond of Grostein
within whose veins flowed more
than a normal supply of the
"milk of human kindness."
