neckline that's beyond plunging.
"I never wear a plunging neck
line off the screen," she said.
"I'm sure no mother would want
her daughter to go around like
that.

"But the movie called for
brief costumes. There was a rea
son. The girl was supposed to
be vulgar. In real life a woman
should have good manners in
everything, including her dress.
Put clothes on a great statue,

and she won't stick out."

"Ummmm, well usually," she

George Evenson reached the
scene, they were greeted by
howls of laughter. "It was just a
practical joke," Joe chuckled.
But it wasn't funny to the offi
cials. Cole returned here and
charged Ryan with "hindering,

ger aboard the Union Pacific
streamliners "Pony Express"
summoned a porter then shot
him four times.
The Limon town marshal,
called to the scene when the pas
sengers aboard the train were
thrown into near panic by the
shooting, in turn shot the pas
senger when he refused to hand
over his pistol.
Wounded Three Times
The porter, James R. Ervin of
Denver, was wounded three
times in the left thigh and once
in the right by bullets fired from
under a blanket covering Emery
Moore of Kansas City, Mo.
Ervin said he knew no reason
why Moore should shoot him.
He said Moore "kept ringing
all the time for me to come back
and give him service. I treated
him real nice."
Ervin, hospitalized in Denver,!
said Moore rang for bun just as
the train pulled into Limon
Thursday.
'He was all covered by the
blanket," Ervin said. "That's
why, when I heard a noise, I
thought it was a toy noisemaker.
I never felt any pain I guess I
was shot by then."
Moore said from his Denver
hospital bed that he fired after
he felt someone trying to get his
wallet while he napped in his
berth on the train.
"I was lying in my bunk when
I heard a guy fumbling around
outside my bunk," he told Sher
iff Merlin H. Koerner. "I was
mad.. I had about $100 or $200
in my wallet."

test, requiring that he do with
out cigarettes for 24 hours. The
smoker then is placed in a closed,
warm room. He-smokes 'two cig
arettes rapidly. The temperature
on his hand is measured with a
thermocouple. If his hand skin
temperature has dropped . as
much as 8 degrees, the person
is nicotine sensitive.
The doctor himself is. He quit
smoking.

free Friday on three years proba
tion. She was paroled .Thursday
from Tehachapi prison where she
served two years of a one to 10
year sentence for the 1949 kill
ing. "I want to be forgiven and to
forget," she said.
She shot Pete Petrillo, 38, a
Palm Springs dude ranch oper
ator, after she found him in the
apartment of 28-year-old Alma
Ross Prima, a dancer.
