made a long distance phone call
costing $45, plus tax, from an
Oregonian telephone Saturday
was sought by Portland police
Monday.
Police, said an unidentified
man broke into an Oregonian
newspaper hut and placed a call
to San Antonio, Tex. He talked
for 92 minutes, according to long
distance exchange records.
An operator heard him tell
his party he was using the tele
phone because it was cheaper
than an airmail stamp.
Portland (U.R) Louis Gene
Grover, 20, Portland, believed to
be a wounded veteran of the Ko
rean war, was killed Saturday
in an automobile accident on
Southwest Barbur boulevard.
