country. I can't go out with boya
and I can't even go to ahowa or
riding with my girl friends. And
he doesn't let me go to any of
the school parties or dances. He

Children of
foreign-born parents often suf
fer from the same problem that
you are suffering from. Their
parents expect them to live as
they were reared.
If you had been brought up
in your father's native land, you
would not object to his restric
tions because all your friends
would be subjected to the same
restrictions. But, you are being
brought up in America where
teenagers are given more free
dom than in any part of the
world, especially teenage girls

Parties, dances, and dates are
all a part of American school
life. You should be able to take
part in this part of school life
just as you do in studies and
athletics.
Ask Teacher's Aid .
If you can make no headway
in your talks with your father,
why not ask one of the teachers
in your school to come to your
home and talk to your parents?

whole matter to him better than
you can.
Your minister can also- help
you to solve this problem by
talking to your father. . If his
minister approves of what you
want, I am sure your father will
see the problem in a new light.
For your sake, I hope you will
be. able to solve this problem
before -too late. Senior year in
our American high schools is an
important part of a young per
son's life and the - parties are
often the "last fling" young peo
ple have before they settle down
to the serious business of earn
ing a living. It would seem a pity
for your to have to miss all of
these pleasures.

lack of iodin or iodide in the
food and water in Michigan I
believe each member of the M.
family should take the regular
daily ration suggested in the
pamphlet, everyday for the first
three months, in order to build
up something like a normal re
serve or store of iodin in the
thyroid gland which has been
depleted since they moved from
Connecticut. Thereafter once or
twice "a week the year around.
As for the bed-wetting, there
is a good deal of clinical evi
dence that iodin deficiency is
a common predisposing cause
of bed-wetting. Bed-wetting chil
dren most likely to be helped
by iodin are underweight, low
in vitality, have subnormal body
temperature and frequently com
plain of feeling cold when or
where normal persons are com
fortable enough. Their hands
and feet often look blanched and
feel cold to the touch.
That's all for today's clinic.
But there's one other thing
I'd like to talk about. Mrs. M
wishes me a long, long life, for
the world sorely needs a down-to-earth

who is practical, reasonable and
honest (no kidding, these are her
