program this ATA shoot are

DA T. D. Wyatt.
The gun club grounds, which
offer one of the most attractive
panoramic views in the west, are
being groomed and planted to
ensure their being in A-l condi
tion for the tournament.

Jimmy Dykes asked his Phila
delphia Athletics for only one
thing Wednesday to play the
same kind of ball all through
1952 that they did for the final
six weeks of last season.
"If they do," he predicted,
"we'll win the American League
pennant."
The A's won 25 games while
losing only 11 during the final
six weeks of last season and took
special delight in knocking off
the clubs who then were bat
tling for the pennant the Yan
kees, Indians and Red Sox. That
gave them a percentage of .694
over that period and Dykes be
lieves that mark will be good
enough to finish on top in 1952,
Big Question
Of course, he admitted, it is a
question that the club can match
that pace this year.
"But that finish gave my
players a lot of confidence and
they proved to themselves that
they could knock off the big
boys," Dykes said. "And now
that they know they can do it.

He didn't, however, predict a
pennant for the A's. -
