However, the decision wasn't
made officially "unanimous un
til more than an hour after the
fight had ended. The first an
nouncement was a "majority"
decision for Villemain because
Judge Jimmy Crowley had mis
takenly scored the fight even on
rounds and points.
Crowley, an ex-referee who
was making his first Garden ap
pearance as a judge, forgot to
give Villemain a mandatory one
point for the third round, which
Nardico had lost on a foul for
two low blows.
