Willows, Cal., whera the local
Far West league club opens a
three-game series tonight fol
lowed by four tills at Marys
villa starting on Friday. They
return to Medford July 4 to
play Heno, Nev.

Medford's Rogues and the
Marvsville Peaches made t w o
trades in their four-game series
concluded last night at the fair
grounds but It is questionable
whether the local fans were too
pleased over either trade.
Last night It took 11 Innings
for the Californians to defeat the
Rogues and thus even the series
at two victories a piece but an
other trade was made when It
was an unearned run that tied
the score for Medford in the
ninth and another gave Marys
ville a win.
Late Game Rally
The Rogues had displayed
some of their earlier late game
rallies when they pushed over
that tying run in the ninth in
ning with two out.
After Russ Stuart had struck
out, the Marysvllle second base
man kicked around Jack Coo
ney's grounder for an error,
Johnny Popovich also struck out

First Batter Fans
The 11th inning for Marysville
started out about the same way
with Cummins falling for Vet
eran Pete Jonas' curve balls for
a strike out but Olson lashed
grounder that struck the first
base sack and bounded over Coo-
ney's head for a hit.
Cruger was hit by a pitched
ball and Santo grounded to
Lloyd Jones at second base for
Medford who tossed to Stuart for
the force play at second but when
the local shortstop tried for the
double play at first the ball got
bv Cooney and Olson scored.
Jonas obviously was tiring In
the last Inning or two after re
lieving starter Bob Smith In the
sixth and allowing the Peaches
but three hits and two runs.
Local Fielding Gems
Williams pulled down a beauty

ning, Chuck Freeman ran into
deep right center near the fence
for a back-to-the-fleld catch in
the second and Stuart made i

nice play in the tenth for Med
ford. Medford picked up two runs

dock and Freeman walked, Marc
Guglielmo sacrificed. Jones and
Smith drew walks. Haddock
scored on a passed ball and Free
man tallied when S t u a r t 's
grounder took a bad hop to sec
ond base.
Two more In the seventh for
the Rogues came in on a walk to
Cooney Willlonis' triple and Had
dock's single.
